Dan Quayle heads a portion of the firm IIRC, that and the applicable jokes aside, Cereberus is a very impressive group to say the least.

If it's Dodge, the AR'd be from Model1 sales or ASA.

Cerberus bought Chrysler - hence my Dodge/DPMS joke.

I'm just happy because now I can buy a "not Chrysler" car and know its actually German and actually not Chrysler...

I wonder if remington, bushmaster, or dpms will make a potatoE gun?

Actually a Jeep branded AR would be very cool.

YMMV, but from the Merc owners I've spoken to, Merc quality actually increased after Daimler-Chrysler merger. Chrysler had some bulk manufacturing skills while Merc was still in some ways still a custom coach builder, and that lack of mass-pro skill affected assembly quality (especially in wiring!)

Mercedes.... "Overengineered like no other car in the world."

Chrysler... "We can solve the oil shortage by stopping our transmission leaks - someday."

Cerberus bought Bushmaster in 2006 and they acquired Remington this year.

Will Dodge offer a CA Edition truck? (substituting long gun lockbox for AR rifle)

The managers at these gun makers are going to be under intense
pressure to show fat profit within the next 2-3 years. Cerberus is not
in it for the long term. They want to flip the companies for a quick
buck as soon as the companies can be polished up to look profitable.

Having these guys be well financed and growth focused to lead to a single public firearms company will only be in we shooter's best interest over the long haul.
