CALL TO ACTION
HANDGUN MANUFACTURERS NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!!
MICROSTAMPING

Requires that semiautomatic pistols be designed and equipped with a microscopic array of characters that identify the make, model, and serial number of the pistol, and which are transferred in at least two places by imprinting onto each cartridge case when the firearm is discharged. Theoretically, this will enable identification of the registered owner.

MANUFACTURERS HAVE STOOD BY THEIR CUSTOMERS IN CALIFORNIA AND PLAYED A LEADING ROLE IN THE FIGHT TO DEFEAT THE MICROSTAMPING LEGISLATION.

NOW IT IS TIME TO ASK THEM TO STAND BY US AGAIN BY NOT IMPLEMENTING MICROSTAMPING (AB 1471), AND BY NOT INCORPORATING THIS FLAWED AND INEFFECTIVE "CRIME SOLVING" TECHNOLOGY INTO THEIR PRODUCT LINES. TELL THEM THAT DOING SO WILL ONLY MAKE TERRIBLE ANTI-GUN LEGISLATION EVEN WORSE!

IT WOULD HELP CRIMINALS WHO PICK UP YOUR BRASS AT A SHOOTING RANGE AND LEAVE IT AT A CRIME SCENE MAKE IT LOOK TO LAW ENFORCEMENT LIKE YOU ARE THE PERPETRATOR OF A CRIME! IT CAN EASILY BE DEFEATED BY CRIMINALS!

ONLY LAWFUL PEOPLE WOULD BE AFFECTED BY MICROSTAMPING, NOT CRIMINALS!!! AND, IT WOULD ADD ABOUT $200 TO THE RETAIL PRICE OF A SEMIAUTOMATIC HANDGUN!!!!

IF MANUFACTURERS EMPLOY MICROSTAMPING ON HANDGUNS, IT WON`T BE LONG BEFORE IT IS REQUIRED ON ALL GUNS!

LET`S NOT LET THOSE WHO WANT INFRINGEMENTS ON OUR FIREARMS RIGHTS GET AWAY WITH THEIR OBVIOUS ATTEMPT TO MAKE FIREARMS OWNERSHIP AND POSSESSION MORE DIFFICULT, MORE COSTLY, AND SOMETHING THAT PUTS LAWFUL INDIVIDUALS IN JEOPARDY OF BEING CHARGED WITH A CRIME!!!

PLEASE CONTACT THEM TODAY.
ASK MANUFACTURERS NOT TO IMPLEMENT MICROSTAMPING.

Awwww Geezus, not this sh*t again.... I WISH THE CRPA WOULD S.T.F.U.

It appears CRPA has not read the law and they're apparently are looking for a bit of drama to support fundraising - maybe Kathy Lynch & Jerry Upholt are looking for a few bucks extra.

I'd appreciate it if Calgunners did not jump on this bandwagon, as it (1) does nothing to help, and (2) actually spreads misinformation & paranoia to gun mfgrs.

A reasoned careful analysis of AB1471 indicates there are exploitable roadblocks to implementation. Calm, quiet discussions with gunmakers will be able to override these fears.

I believe I may be able to hit the SHOT Show and offer some calming guidance.

Doesnt it makes sense for the companies to simply eschew microstamping completely though? There's no reason to implement it since they have a bunch of models already certified. They need only continue selling those certified pistols and making sure that they dont fall off the list.

Assuming that the law is ever actually implemented; they want gunmakers to refuse to comply with the law? I would have no problem if they did, but doing so would simply limit the firearms available to Californians.

CRPA does this and yet has not joined the other state associations in the amicus brief in Heller? Doesn't make any sense to me. Seems greater good could be done by getting with the other associations.

CRPA is essentially an "in-name-only" gun organization shaped around the private lobbying interests of its contract lobbyists Jerry Upholt & Kathy Lynch.

Given their past conduct and end results, I regard CRPA and GOC as essentially antigun organizations. They have produced no useful laws that passed, and supported bad laws (some of which passed).

I believe funds cutoff is the only way to make these folks listen and move closer to cooperation with the NRA.

Maybe we should start our own real pro-2A/Anti-Gun Control group to promote the rights of gun owners, and to start rolling back many of the laws that have been signed that have infringed on our rights.

It's called the NRA, NRA Members' Councils, and Calguns.

Lotsa forward progress can ge made when bright people with one goal are not interfered with.

I believe one of the reasons we had AB2728 was that it happened quickly enough, and GOC/CRPA didn't manage to get involved.

Over the past 3 years, I've see remarkable and very powerful things happen here at Calguns! With the help of the NRA, Bill, Artherd, Tenpercent, etc, we have formed a formidable and respectable alliance. We need no more groups, we need the fractured folks to fall in line.....

If anyone here hasn't been to their local NRA Member's council meeting, I would suggest going at least once to learn about what they are doing. The Alameda County MC meets the first tuesday of the month in San Leandro. If you are in the east bay, come by to meet a bunch of great people.

I posted it as a heads up. I call it "knowing your enemy"...no sense in everyone NOT being aware of what the other guys are telling their folks. Especially on an issue of upmost concern to us all. Just like the brady bunch and the rest of the antis....one must keep tabs on them at all times.

Did they really use ALLCAPS THAT MUCH?....

They sure did. I cut and pasted it and just put the red color on the text back in, just like they had it.

My apologies to Calgunner Hunter if my excoriation of CRPA was inadvertently read to have anything to do with him.

Hunter was just letting us know what they're up to - locking the barn door after the horse is gone, not understanding details of the actual law in place, and apparently trying to hit up gun companies for some lobbying fees by showing them 'activity' they've dredged up...

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
