They both work for the DOJ. Allison is kind of out of the picture now (I think she's been reassigned within the DOJ). Iggy is still around.

She's a lawyer with the DOJ and is famous for drafting the letter that said that OLL receivers were OK in California. At the time, she didn't realize that people would get those receivers and build them up into rifles. So we can kind of thank her for this. She's also famous for attempting to evade her duty to assist with PRAR's (public record act request), and for closely working with Brady.

Iggy is a field agent, AFAIK. He's famous for shooting his desk, allegedly lying under oath, and other stuff.

They are both prime examples of fine public servants.

****...acronym for Store High in Transit, just learned that last week during a radio advertisement. Came from the Civil War era when cow pies were stored on ships for fuel. When saltwater came into contact with them, it gave off some type of scent or gas, they bundled the cow pies up and stacked them, marking them in red writing with Store High In Transit (or Transport), eventually them abbreviated the verbiage, hence the acronym ****...

What does "SCOTUS" mean?
Supreme Court of the United States. ;)

POTUS = President of the United States
TOTUS = Teleprompter of the United States :p

And a couple of new one's for those reading the 2A forum
BoR = Bill of Rights
DoI = Declaration of Independence
P&I = Privileges & Immunities clause (14th Amendment)

P&I = Privileges & Immunities clause (14th Amendment)

There is a separate Privileges & Immunities Clause in the body of the Constitution (not an amendment) at Article IV.

(See this Second Circuit opinion (http://www.ca2.uscourts.gov/decisions/isysquery/d6ed02fb-5890-495b-8d48-8f13eb63b2b2/1/doc/03-9123_opn.pdf#xml=http://www.ca2.uscourts.gov/decisions/isysquery/d6ed02fb-5890-495b-8d48-8f13eb63b2b2/1/hilite/) for a terrible interpretation of it.)

We should call that something else. P&IArt4 has emerged as the consensus so far.

AngelDecoys
04-26-2009, 5:38 PM
There is a separate Privileges & Immunities Clause in the body of the Constitution (not an amendment) at Article II. Article 2 is the executive branch. I think you meant Article IV :p

We should call that something else. How about A2P&I?

A2P&I is fine with me but I've seen P&I used in a few threads already. I'm taking the assumption that those reading the 2a forum would recognize P&I in reference to incorporation and the 14th. Maybe not such a great assumption on my part, but I'd wager that P&I will be coming up more regularly as (if) McDonald moves up as a possible national incorporation case.

IMO - Its probably better to label P&I in Article 4 as P&IArt4 since it will come up less often. So less likely to be confused.

In the end, it makes little difference to me, but for the sake of new readers it might be a good idea to include it here (not that it will stop those asking in threads ;)).

PPT = person to person transfer
ACP = automatic centerfire pistol

PPT is generally short for Private Party Transfer, but I guess that Person to Person works as well.

ACP is not "centerfire", it stands for Automatic "Colt" Pistol or Automatic "Cartridge" Pistol. There seems to be some dispute on this, but in common usage, "Colt" trumps them all.

All of the "ACP" round first appeared in Colt (Browning design) guns.

.25ACP
.32ACP
.380ACP
.38ACP
.45ACP

What's scary is that this could start an ammunition acronym list....

SP
HP
HPBT
BT
RN
FN
TMJ
FMJ
ACP
WSM
AE
S
L
LR
CB
+P
+P+
GAP
NATO

and that's just a few off the top of my head...

Cheers!

It's Quoted For Truth. You quote something from another post to either agree with it, or more commonly, to set it in stone so if the OP goes back to edit it, their OP lives on in yours (they can't edit your post containing their OP).

And I originally looked here to ask about FDE, as it didn't come up in a search, but found it on the scroll to the bottom. ;)

I don't believe I saw this one: AH. It is a commonly used le term using the alphabet. By assigning words to each letter, the letter can easily be understood over the radio.

A is Adam and H is Henry. This way one leo can let another leo know the person they are dealing with is an AH or A** H*** without the person knowing what they are referring to.

Iggy is an AH.:thumbsup:

I'm aware it has something to do with AR-15s and maybe their 'lowers' but what exactly and does it apply to AR-10 and other calibers of ARs?

I just like the one that may apply to all of us soon:

When TEOTWAWKI happens, you will need to GOOD ( get out of dodge).

Then, you would need a BOV... bug out vehicle...

and of course, your firearms. Which during that time, would be worth more than gold or money .

I can't believe there's been six pages and nobody has mentioned OT. Those who don't visit OT don't know what it is and are therefore missing out on the wisdom of CalGuns' best and brightest! :D

OT = Off Topic forum

It is a wonderful place where all your questions, firearm related or not, will be answered by the nations finest experts in their relevant fields.

Internet - " all designations refer to the uppers, the A1 fielded in vietnam had a triangular handgaurd a 1:12 tiwsit a light barrel and was an utter failure. the A2 has a heavy barrel a 1:7 twist circular handguards and the usual non-detachable carry handle and front sight. the A3 is the A2 with a detachable carry handle over a pictanny rail. now the A4 is the A3 with a removable front sight over a pic rail also."
