"After the massacre in Omaha where 8 were killed with an AK-47 -- a weapon of war -- will you fight to renew Bill Clinton's Assault Weapon ban?"

Since the original AWB gave us a pro-RKBA Repub majority in the House in 1994 for the first time decades, perhaps WE should make this latest tragedy an issue in all the 2008 races (presidential, senatorial, and congressional): (1) to smoke out our opposition (i.e., force them to clearly state their position), (2) to get our side fired up again, and (3) to kick some anti-RKBA butt come election day! :D

It wasn't Bill Clinton's bill. He just signed it.

But it's always called the "Clinton Assault Weapons Act" or some crap like that.

Bill would probably have vetoed it if he knew what it was going to cost his party. I don't think he gives a hoot one way or another about RKBA. He just did and said whatever he thought would get him elected. If he thought he could ride a pro-RKBA tide back into power, he'd probably take up duck hunting.

Hillary, on the other hand, may be a true believer, and thus much more dangerous.

New Qs for Hillary (and all the candidates): "Last week a CCW holder stopped a mad man from committing mass murder in a church. As president, (1) would you push for more states to pass 'Shall Issue' Right-to-Carry legislation? (2) Would you sign national Right-to-Carry legislation? (3) Would you change federal regulations to allow CCW holders to carry in national parks?"

If WE raise guns as an issue (AWs, CCW, the Heller/Parker case), that will HURT the anti candidates, esp in the Midwest and South. Raising the issue of guns will keep them from flying under the radar of Joe Avg gun owner-voter who ISN'T a NRA member and never even thought about searching the web to find forums like this.

After all, you can never have too many pro-RKBA politicians in D.C. or your state capitol.
