Anyone know if it is legal to ship a pistol to myself at another location within CA.

Fed X or UPS, I think overnite. I always insure the heck outta them.I've shipped them to myself C/O the hotel or motel I'm staying at or whatever.

Probably not a great idea, though *within Calif.* the 12078(d)(1) 'infrequent loan' exemption could let you get around that if were a loan for 30 days or less, and the recipient was not a prohibited person and held a valid HSC. This exemption in the PC makes no differentiation about the method in which the handgun is delivered from lender to lendee.

But it's best if you're shipping a firearm to yourself (in any area) to ship it addressed to yourself, "care of" or "c/o" your host at that address.
