I just got a killer deal on this banged up Benelli M1 S90. I'd like to bring it back to presentable condition. Anyone know of a good gunsmith in SoCal who can make it look new :D

This is what it looks like ... looks pretty salvagable

Leave it alone.
That there is called "character".
Tell everyone about how you remember when it was new.
back when I first got this shotgun...

So maybe I should scratch up all my guns so that they have character ?

Ar15 is correct. Sure it's nice to have a new looking firearm but that means it isn't used. You can't keep a gun nice and use it.
Nerd scratches are a bad deal and reflect poorly on the owner.
Wear marks and dings are a badge of honor.
You can be a shooter or a safe queen guy.
Spend your $$$ on the mods that will improve the use of it.

Aha! So I'm not the only one who ignores those weird little buttons and levers. :p

Benelli refinished my rusted M3 barrel for free. Doubt they would do a receiver for free but you can always call and see what the factory charges. I would rather have an OEM finish.

I see a pistol grip,+2 extension and side saddle, in it's future:p

Yeah, save your money and spend it on ammo instead. ;)

Watch out for your 922r piece count.
Consider a US made extension, NOT a foreign made extension.

I was told to stay away from the side saddle on the M1s...?!

yeah I will replace some other parts like the charging handle with dave's metal work. Thanks for the tip though.

Is the charging handle even a 922r part?
I don't think it is.

I have been told that too, but I have run one sucessfully for years.
Having said that, I am planning to switch to a 3gungear version due to the shells sitting at an angle that is more conducive to faster reloads.
