Anybody got a handle on where I can get a decent Siamese Mauser receiver for little project I got in mind? Like to get one for a .45-70 conversion/build program. Thanks.

If you are looking for a good dealo you willhave to be patient. There are not too many Siamese Mausers out there. I was involved in a 45-70 conversion. There is a Gunsmith in if I remember correctly, in one of the Carolinas that specializes in Siamese Mauser conversions

He was a wealth of information, happy to talk with us on the phone and give info. Also very reasonable gunsmithing prices.

There were also conversions done with British Enfields. Many were nickel plated The Gibbs Lee-Enfield Summit .45-70 Rifle. I dont think they are in business anymore. They made a fine rifle.
