It's plural, not possessive - no apostrophe needed.

Well done!
Just hope the CA DOJ doesn't come knocking about "real AR15s", as in the listed Colt vs the generic classification. Or the (hopefully) 10/30 mag on the BB build you've got pictured.

In any case, the more people know about them, the better off we are!

In this case, I think the apostrophe is fine.

It's a usage distinguishing a thing "A R 1 5 s" from multiples of an "A R 1 5".

You see the same thing with Oakland Athletics / A's.

Just the first one that popped up:
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/grammar/g_apost.html
Forming plurals of lowercase letters

Apostrophes are used to form plurals of letters that appear in lowercase; here the rule appears to be more typographical than grammatical, e.g. "three ps" versus "three p's." To form the plural of a lowercase letter, place 's after the letter. There is no need for apostrophes indicating a plural on capitalized letters, numbers, and symbols (though keep in mind that some editors, teachers, and professors still prefer them). Here are some examples:

p's and q's = a phrase indicating politeness, possibly from "mind your pleases and thankyous"?

Nita's mother constantly stressed minding one's p's and q's.

three Macintosh G4s = three of the Macintosh model G4

There are two G4s currently used in the writing classrom.

many &s = many ampersands

That printed page has too many &s on it.

the 1960s = the years in decade from 1960 to 1969

The 1960s were a time of great social unrest.

Oh, yes - I don't see SGN, but great ad!

Guys,
Would'nt it be possible to get a letter of approval from DOj for these companies?
When I recently called FAD, basically they said that cops in certain jurisdiction may interpret the law differently( esp. with regards to price50 etc) and they could'nt says or predict how a certain LOA would interpret or view the rifle.
So basically , in a nut shell buy an OLL and wait till you get pulled over .
Seriously, there is a lot of money for the companies to make serious $$$ in CA if they can somehow obtain an approval letter from DOJ.

Yes there are those supposedly on our side who would sell us out by kissing the rears of the DOJ so they can have a monopoly on whatever neutering mechanism they come up with. Screw those pigs. Buy only from those like 10% who have had the guts to press forward and truly help us all out.

I and others have gotten several letters on receiver legality from DOJ, they are all over this forum.

If you are talking about mag-securing devices, DOJ is actively refusing written requests by manufactures' attorneys, violating their charter in the process. All because they 'do not like' the fact these devices are legal.

Cops do not interpret the law, they enforce it. DOJ is giving misleading info over the phone on purpose

Kinda goes against what they have posted on their web site....

The Bureau of Firearms serves the people of California through education, regulation, and enforcement actions regarding the manufacture, sales, ownership, safety training, and transfer of firearms. Bureau of Firearms staff will be leaders in providing firearms expertise and information to law enforcement, legislators, and the general public in a comprehensive program to promote legitimate and responsible firearms possession and use by California residents.

So how long do we as tax payer have to put up with this???

Speak for yourself. My AR-15's are quite possessive and keep shoving my M1A to the back of the safe. So, they're both plural and very possessive.

I still disagree about the apostrophe for "AR15" term.

Printing convenience does not necessarily mean it's correct (kinda like DOJ publications!).

possessive: "The AR15's superior accuracy ...."

plural: "I hope to own several more AR15s."

Just continuing to fill in for ohsmily :)

I'm interested but cautious.

If I had a letter from the CA DOJ specifically stating in no nonsense language that that product, in that configuration, was legal under CA law, I would buy 2 of them.

I may be behind the curve here, not being an expert in the finer points of CA AW law. I would want something unambiguous and authoritative to present if my possession of these longarms were ever called into question. I don't like the idea of spending the weekend in jail with Bubba for a new boyfriend just so I can get the case dismissed on Monday morning by a judge who knows the score.
