Having never tried anything like this, how hard is it to put an ambi safety on a 1911, in this case, a Kimber Pro Carry HD?

I'll be DROSing one on friday and would like to add the safety fairly soon afterwards.

Thanks!

If you get the Kimber ambi they basically drop in.

http://www.arizonagunrunners.com lists them.

Almost any safety will require a little fitting, but it's not too hard.
There is a pad that you fit for minimum clearance.
You will get really good at installing and removing the safety before you are done.

Cool. Maybe you can show me what to do and I'll do the work.

Remove the old safety.
(this is fun the first time)
Install the new one.
At first, it won't click into "safe", but push on it a little to leave a mark where you will be fitting.
Then remove the new safety.
File off the pad where the mark is.
Repeat as above until it finally WILL click into "safe"
