Lot's of sellers on Gunbroker believe that their item is worth a little more than the market value, but this guy takes the cake

Let's get this straight - you could get a Barrett w/ optics, a SIG AMT, a G series FAL, an HK 41 or even a semi-G3 (original) or, you could buy this shotgun:

When I think of all the money I wasted buying Colt SAA's and Pre-model number S. & W. N frames, I weep in sorrow.

If I only knew that this gem, which could be the center piece of any significant collection, was within my reach...

Check the page they link to (which is their page...) that claims they turned down offers in the 5K range. And a movie company wants to use the gun, and so on and so on.

The funny thing is they make reference to the open bolt M10/11 series pieces that were banned in 1981, and link it to this shotgun, and never once on the page or in the auction do they state that this is a single shot - they make repeated references to MG's and the ease of conversion of open bolt designs, but never once do they state that their shotgun is a single-shot.

I was looking at the picture and was wondering where the magazine was. A slam fire single shot, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, let em check my wallet.

I bought an 1897 at a gunshow, sometime last winter. I mail ordered a bayonet for it later. Anyway, all the stuff on his web page may well be BS. MY Norinco 1897 definitely does the good kind of slam fires. You hold the trigger back after shooting and pump the slide and what happens is the trigger will move a little to reset and it will then immediately fire another round without releasing the trigger. (Unlike my 870 Remington which actually requires trigger release before resetting)

So, as always, BUYER BEWARE.

But, but , but, didn't you see the hot blonde cougar holding the weapon?

WTF? Every 97 I have ever seen can do that, even mine. I have seen 97trench guns for sale for under $500 in the last year. The Winchester bayonet is often FS on Ebay for under $100.

I don't understand why this seller insists on using his tired old wife to "model" all the guns, as if that will help sell more guns. He is obviously proud of the fact that he has a "trophy wife" and wants everyone in the gun community to know it. Albeit, a trophy from the 1980's!

At least they're careful about leaving fingerprints.

Seriously, I find it annoying and unprofessional. She's old enough to be my mother. But then, this is also the guy that's trying to sell every single gun as ABOUT TO BE BANNED! INVEST! LQQK! Unfortunately, he has a TON of listings.

Its funny... if only two are known to exist there sure are alot of them that turn up on gunbroker...

I've seen a number of them sell on there (I guess it COULD have been the same one over and over againg) but I thought it was overpriced at 500-1200

You could make your own (legally) with a dremmel and some pipe. It'd probably look better too.

I like how he capitalizes "SLAMFIRE", it makes it sound real loud and obnoxious in the descriptions

Also how the font is made so I can read it without eyeglasses

Also sounds like he uses the same description writer has Mitchell's Mausers.

There's a hotter girl on one of his other auctions. I'm digging that, but not enough to bid one one of his guns. ;)

That looks to me like it was made out of parts from the hardware store.

Buy both existing shotguns, melt down one of them - think of how much the only remaining one would be worth!

Every Ithaca Model 37 does the same thing - no disconnector.
