A reporter gets suspended for ambushing a 70 year old man after he legally defends himself. Hopefully the public outrage will get her fired.

It takes a while to load and the sound volume of the taped segment varies greatly from the studio portion.

Not only did she ambush an old man who was obviously upset about having to end two peoples lives, but she is a terrible reporter.

I would say her career is over. No way will the DA file on that old man although she is doing her best to make him look guilty.

What kind of shotgun did he buy?

He probably bought a cool one.

What a flaming BIZNATCH that woman is. I cannot believe she treated him that way. I wonder how she treats her kids.

"Little jimmy, are you a violent kiddie? Do you like to make your transformers hurt themselves?"

Jiminey Christmas.

If the cops are going to keep taking them for evidence then it's smart to buy cheap replacements.

well she certainly did ambush him. its not his fault two people decided to break into his shop/or house or whatever and rob him. its not like e went out looking for these guys to kill them. they found him and further more i would imagine that his age made him a very appealing target. and i really love how they waited to ambush him with a shotgun in his hands as an attempt to make him look that much more "evil". jeez what is this country comeing to these days.

This is precisely why I started the Evidence Gun thread.

She probably wanted the bad guy to beat the old man to death while robbing him so she could say what a lousy childhood he had & that it wasn't really his fault. That society had failed him & all the other crap that liberals like to blame on the rest of us.

Really, the essence of the problem in this case is that the reporter has no sensitivity about the dynamics of the lawful use of deadly force and the aftermath. I'd imagine that the reporter would be sensitive enough about the issues surrounding rape, to not ask the victim if the thought maybe their short dress might have played a part in provoking the rape. Likewise, she would not ask a black guy who got roughed up by the cops at a traffic stop if it wasn't at least a bonus that he had great grounds for a civil suit.

Bottom line, she has not had the exposure she needs to this particular type of victimization to ask appropriate questions as a reporter. Lacking this savvy, she falls back on her personal bias, prejudice, and ignorance.

Did I call this in the other thread? Don't beat on people for defending themselves in Texas.... you can pull that and get awards in Cali... no dice in Texas.

Suspension..... She needs to be fired! Obviously she wasn't to scared of him being trigger happy, when she is willing to stop him from leaving when he just bought a new shotgun and probably ammo too.LOL
