Has anyone heard of closures in D11, D13 or D15? My uncle said he was locked in an area in D13 last week.

SoCal National Forests continue to be closed to the public due to extreme fire danger. Cars parked in front of locked gates are ticketed and towed.

A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559, 3571, and 3581.

San Bernardino National Forest Announces Emergency Forest Closure

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., October 22, 2007 Due to extreme fire activity, and to protect public health and safety, San Bernardino National Forest officials are implementing a forest closure, effective October 23, 2007. The closure prohibits public entry to the forest, with few exceptions, and will last until the extreme conditions subside.

Angeles National Forest will continue the Temporary Emergency Closure
through the Weekend

ARCADIA, CA October 22, 2007

ARCADIA, Calif. As a result of extreme fire danger, and to protect public health and safety, Angeles National Forest officials will continue the temporary emergency Forest closure for awhile longer. The closure became effective last week on October 23, 2007 and it is projected to last until conditions have improved.

In conjunction with the Cleveland, San Bernardino, and Angeles National Forest, Los Padres National Forest Supervisor Peggy Hernandez today announced, that as a result of current extreme fire activity in the Southern California Province, very low fuel moisture, and fire suppression resources being stretched to the limit, an emergency closure of the entire Los Padres National Forest.
