Sell. Not sale or sail.

Sorry about being a grammar cop, but I am interested in hearing the answer.

What kind of ammo? Like buy and resale? Or reload your own and sell it...? If you're reloading and selling, you are gunna need a FFL 03. Just a word of caution, people who hop into the reloading and selling world need alot of capital, alot of good machines, and even when they're prepared most lose everything they ever had. In the reloading forum, freakshow10mm wrote up a huge post on what it takes to start a reloading business. I'd read it before you do anything at all

No FFL is required to sell. You would only need a city business license. However, most medium and large ammunition manufacturers will only sell to an FFL. Good luck finding any that have inventory to sell....or willing to sell to you.

Sorry....sell

I don't want to manufacture, just SELL factory ammunition. I wonder if purchasing large quantities puts you any further ahead in line...hmm
Time to start making phone calls

that would be an Type 06FFL or 07FFL to manufacture ammo for sale. an 03FFL is a collector FFL (C&R FFL).

I don't believe you need an FFL to sell/re-sell factory ammo, unless AB48 passed...

Check local laws/ordinances as well before you proceed.

Good luck!

OP I have a relationship with a medium sized manufacturer. They require a min 15 case order (1000 rounds per case) and there is a 12-16 week lead time.

If you want to sell at a retail level then all you need is a resellers permit and depending on your county/city a business license.

Manufacturing loaded ammunition or components (casting bullets, slugs, buckshot, etc) to sell needs an 06. NOT and 03 and NOT an 07. And if you're loading ammunition you need to collect FET.

Large orders will not advance your place in line. Orders are served in the order they are received. Most distributors that have a decent price on ammo require one to be an 01 and or have a storefront. Not to mention when those pallets deliver youre going to need a forklift.

An 07 lets you manufacture ammo just like as if you had an 06.

You'd be right if he was trying to sell a box here or there. He is trying to go into business selling ammo. At the minimum he needs some kind of business license.

I don't think you need one until $10k in sales.

If you're in business, which means profiteering, then you need one. Try getting a wholesale account without one too. That wont be easy.

Its not just about a dollar amount either, counties/cities will want a permit depending on the type goods or services being sold as well.

You will need a business license to do any business in general and a seller permit if you are selling any products.
