Pretty decent write up... Good Stuff.

Highlight:

Then they came for the gun owners, and you liberal $h!tbags threw me under the bus, even though I'd done nothing wrong. So when they come to put you on the train, you can cufking choke and die.

Old news, but still good news.

BTW, the author sounds way more Libertarian than Democrat.

Awesome rant, but I can't stop laughing about the most inappropriate avatar in the comments section I've seen in a while. Look for the CRUDE play on the equal sign to support gay marriage.

Nice, way to break through lines.
This is a bi-partisan issue or at least it should be. We need to rally where we find common ground.

Horrifyingly bad blog in some ways - but if you keep things in their true context he is right on the money.

I liked it a lot.

It would be pretty hard to mistake Michael Z. Williamson for a Democrat or a Republican.

Folks,

This is a simply brilliant piece of writing. Sums up what a lot of US are feeling. The United States and the Constitution are for US=us. A2

Decent read, but I want to correct one error in it. Muskets. At the time of the Revolutionary War, the founders were aware of full auto rifles, and rifles with 20 round magazines, at the time.

All credit goes to the well researched and knowledgable Zombietactics for his video series on it. If you haven't watched it, you should, it's worthwhile. http://youtu.be/s_xQAJ9i7Xc (Never Intended, Never Imagined is the name of the 3 vid series, in case the link is borked).

I can identify with this as someone who believes in many of the same causes he supports, but still gets flak for gun ownership, which I think is completely reconcilable with things like abortion and gay marriage, because they are about personal choice without government interference.

True people confuse the two...even those with Libertarian views think they are Democrats.

Good for him. Though many many many of the so called progun dems won't change their mind, they will vote antigun as the all those liberal causes are more important than your gun rights to them. They just don't have the balls to tell you that.

They come here and act pro-gun, but when it comes time to vote. There gonna vote for Nacy Pelosi, in one way or another. Even if by small chance they vote for a bluedog dem that supports gun rights, that FOOL is gonna put Nancy Pelosi back into power, thus he really is anti-gun. Period, end of story.

good read, thanks for reminding me of this guy.

I first read from Michael when I came across this blog post.
You Keep Using That Word. I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means (http://www.michaelzwilliamson.com/blog/item/you-keep-using-that-word--i-do-not-think-it-means-what-you-think-it-means)

Too many words, too much logic, the article is totally incomprehensible to a liberal/progressive mind. Many of the opposition would lose interest, focus, or their attention span would require they click off to download some tunes or respond to a text about a YouTube upload featuring a tattooed Sarah Palin lookalike shaking her fanny off in a twerking video.

I enjoyed it though. The article, not the video!

I like some of the blog, but I just don't understand why he made the connection to being liberal and being accepting of blacks, as if conservatives aren't.

You didn't offend me. Should I request that you rethink your positions?

Otherwise, you may need to change your title to something like, "The post in which I pissed off some very thin skinned people."

phamkl

It's not him but it's the title that Williamson gave it.

This is the perfect summation of the whole essay:
First they came for the blacks, and I spoke up because it was wrong, even though I'm not black.

Then they came for the gays, and I spoke up, even though I'm not gay.

Then they came for the Muslims, and I spoke up, because it was wrong, even though I'm an atheist.

When they came for illegal aliens, I spoke up, even though I'm a legal immigrant.

Then they came for the pornographers, rebels and dissenters and their speech and flag burning, and I spoke up, because rights are not only for the establishment.

Then they came for the gun owners, and you liberal ****bags threw me under the bus, even though I'd done nothing wrong. So when they come to put you on the train, you can ****ing choke and die.

It's succinct and pungent. The logic is present along with a healthy dose of literary prowess.
