I am pleased to announce that A Place to Shoot will be having a Rifle Turkey Shoot on Saturday, November 10, 2007.

The event will consist of a 100 yard five shot dot drill from the supported prone position. You may use bipods, packs, or sand bags (except the saddle type) with rear bag. No bench rest style front rests or bunny / owl ear rear rests will be allowed. The dots will be 1” dots – one shot per dot, 1 min time limit, individual score counted for tie-breaker.

This match is primarily designed for the tac/precision bolt rifle, however, any type of scoped bolt rifle is allowed, except bench rest type rifles. If you have a semi-auto and wish to compete let me know and if there is enough interest I will set a separate class for semi-auto as it would not be fair to put semis and bolt guns in the same class in a timed event.

The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the rifle range. Each competitor will shoot individually from one of the bays under time. The entry fee for this is $20.00, which will be in addition to the range fee. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place individuals.

If you’re interested let me know and if you have enough interest I’ll see if I can arrange a discounted range fee for those coming.

One thing to note is since this doesn’t start until 11:00 you’ll have plenty of time prior to the event to get your zero and practice.

If interested either send me a PM or email me.

Thanks

Semiauto precision .223 is going to rule this event. I'd go if I had one.

Not so much - gas guns will compete against gas guns and bolts against bolts. Only fair way to do it.

So far I've had no interest in this event. (honest I shower with Dial) Anyway I'll need a minimun of 5 competitors or this is a no go. If you're interested let me know ASAP ptherwise this will be a cancel.

I'd consider it if my rifle wasn't completely disassembled for painting and bedding :(
