This thing is awesome. You can get it in most big bore calibers too. .45/70 anyone?

I really want one of these:

The one in .454 is pretty cool, you can get a Puma carbine and have a pistol and rifle in the same hard-hitting caliber.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing with the .45-70, and a Marlin guide gun. Also, the .45LC is appealing for use as a snake gun with .410 shotshells.

I have a BFR in .45/70 10" barrel. Bought it about two years ago on sale at Reeds...shot one box of 20 Hornady LEVERevolution 325gr down in Santa Barbara (safe queen now) recoil was much greater than my Ruger Superblack hawk .44mag...loved it!!! Get one you won't be disappointed...I just need something bigger now...like a S&W 500mag.

I just read that you can get it in .30/30 Winchester. That's pretty neat. The 10 inch barrel is the only option for this.

You can also get the BFR in about ten other calibers.

The 30/30 is really a terrific handgun round. I've got it in a T/C Contender and it's really pleasant to shoot, excellent accuracy. Factory loads from a 45/70 are really pretty mild, reloading brings out the cartridge's potential. You can send a 300 grain jacketed bullet up to 2,100 fps and a 405 lead up to 1,700 fps. Recoil is very stiff on each.

I have one in 460 S&W with the 10 inch barrel. I have a variable power scope on it.

It is a BEAST. For shots beyond 25 or 30 yards (on pigs and like size game) you should rest the gun on some shooting sticks or something else (the gun as configured is about 5.5 pounds).

It is very accurate. I was at Angeles a while back and dinged the 200 yard gong off-hand. 460 S&W is very flat shooting and a handful as far as recoil goes.

One of the best parts about 460 is that you can also shoot 454 Casull and 45 Long Colt out of the same gun.
