I am looking for a red dot for one of my pistols. I want a tubular style but something pretty short in height (will mount to weaver rail).

Just go for a Dr Optic.

You could try one of the Aimpoint Micros. The Comp models are about 55mm in height. The Micro is listed as 36mm on Aimpoint's website.

Thanks for your suggestions. I want something that is tubular so that I can actually see the reticle in bright day light. I have tried those docter style sights and they just aren't bright enough in the desert.

Call Millet to see if their Zoom Dot sight is in production. I saw a prototype at the SHOT show last Feb that was very impressive. This is all I found on their web sight about this product:

I'm a big fan of the Ultradot for target-style red dots. They're sturdy and reliable, and are very popular with the bullseye crowd. The 25 mm is pretty compact. It come with rings, but you can put it in lower ones if you want.
