has anybody ever gone to one of turner's "discontinued sales"? their ads say up to 60% off certain items. among their list is glock, ruger, s&w.

last i checked, glock, ruger, and s&w don't have any recent "discontinued guns". anybody know if this sale is worth checking out?

last time i was there, 2 weeks ago. they had glock 31(.357sig) and glock 37(.45gap) labeled "disc" on the white label/price tag. i'm not sure if that means it's discountinued....

I think it might not necessarily mean guns discontinued by manufacturers, but perhaps guns that Turners decided to no longer carry.

Yes, Turners discontinues carrying firearms that are poor sellers. Basically they become special orders.

Glock 37......man they already quit carrying the Glock 39! The GAP crowd at GT is gonna have a conniption.

I bought a Sig Pro in .357sig there a few years ago fro $377. There are good deals, you just need to look.

I bought a SW 617 for around $600 out the door, iirc. Like a big dummy I sold it.
I wonder if it's on the discontinued list again...

I'm heading over there after work tonight to check it out. Besides they have a Doskosport two-rifle case on sale for 25 bucks ($10 off). It'll fit my uber-tacticool AR with all the extra grips, pods and optics hanging off of it :D.

I got a new Ruger P-95 a couple years back during one of those sales for $277.

Nothin' really good that interested me from the Orange store...

Glock GAP models (pretty good discount at $439
Ruger Redhawk 44?
Taurus Pro?
SIG Homeland Security P226 (with the barcode). $800 something

Browning A bolt
Remington 1100 classic
Howa 1500

Anyone find anything interesting at other stores?

Saw the list yesterday .. only thing that jumped out was HK P7M8s for $1249.

No doubt the "last of the last" ;)

Couple of good deals in Reseda. XD45 Tactical for $429 ($100 off), had the Sig p226 Homeland Security for $829(?) - it's a good deal, but the gun is DAO, which I don't like. Had a few Para's on sale at $100-150 off regular price. Probably the best deal was Kimber Super Match II for $1600..something - over $300 off the list price, not bad. Not a single wheelgun on sale. Overall, nothing that I HAD to buy. The worst part was that they didn't have any of the double-rifle cases and the guy was like "Uh.....I dunno...uh....maybe we'll get some more Monday....uh...." For crying out loud, today was the first day of the sale and they didn't bother to stock any!

I went to the turners in San Bernardino after work. well i got so excited when the guy brought out a Springfield GI in Stainless, for $419, i couldnt believe it. well it was too good to be true. it was already sold to someone back in Jan of this year, but the people that bought it, bought around 10K worth of stuff i hear, and are waiting to DROS everything. he checked his list, it was the only one. i was excited then kind of pissed off.

FWIW, about 3-4 weeks ago, I purchased that DoskoSport rifle case on sale from Big 5. I'm pretty sure it was $20.00.

My main complaint is that it doesn't open easily. The plastic lid sticks. Sometimes you have to forceably pull the lid open.

Forgot to mention they also had two Kimber Rimfires $200 off regular price.

What Just Happened?

Damn it. And I'm just finishing up the 10-day wait on a handgun. I can't get another for 20-some days. That Star Model B looks so tempting....

Odesskiy - Were the Kimber rimfires handguns or rifles? What was the end price?

Thanks!

IMO.
The majority of the people working at the gun counters at Turner's, are not smart enough to find their way out of a wet paper bag.

So I stopped at the Turners on the way home to see if they had any deals, and heard the funniest joke ever. The clown behind the counter said " The guys at Bass Pro Shops don't know anything about guns" :rofl2: Considering most of the people there came from Turners, and most current Turners employees know squat, I found it very amusing.

I went by the Riverside store and picked up the last Taurus 24/7 pro 45acp for $339. I didn't think the pro model was on the DOJ list. The listing says 24/7 but nothing about the pro model. The pro model is basicly like a cz75 which is is a double action pistol that can be carried cocked an locked except the Taurus is a striker pistol. The regular 24/7 is a double action only pistol. The grip felt good and I like the sights. Now to break the news to Momma . Mark

I visited the Pasadena one...nothing.

I ended up just buying some .40S&W Winchester Rangers.
