I’ve been thinking of subscribing to a magazine that pertains to hand guns. Can someone recommend one?

Thanks…Dan

I used to like G&A's Handguns when Libourel was the editor.

Gun mags are fine for looking at gun porn but the product reviews are always worthless, I mean have you ever seen a bad reveiw in one of these magazines? The reveiwers can't be impartial without possibly losing advertising dollars.

There's one magazine "Gun Tests" (I think) that does not accept advertising and writes their honest opinion about each gun that they test. BTW, they buy the test guns on the open market so, they are not bias or given a ringer.

The biggest problem you're gonna have is finding gun magazines with 10 or less pages.

I have read gun tests in the past. Some people rip them for their opinions. I think that what they offer is a good report. I have seen them rip new pistols like the S&W 1911, saying they would not bet their lives on it. PRetty strong words. They are a good read but the subscription is expensive.

I like gun tests and though it is kind of expensive for a magazine subscription, if it stops you from buying a bad gun its kind of priceless.

I have been reading gun tests for many years. It is not handgun specific; it covers the full range of guns and accessories. I find myself looking through back issues when my interests change and I am now interested in something covered a year ago. No glossy pictures, no BS. I also get G&A because it was $12 for two years. It has lots of cool pictures and info on current issues and products but I would never believe a review.

You could throw some money at the NRA and they will send you a monthly rag as about as bad as the rest of them.

The internet and televison will be part of the demise of printed media by 2040 if predictions are accurate.

I read & subscribe to a few, including:

Handguns www.handgunsmag.com
SWAT www.swatmag.com
Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement www.guns-weapons.com
Guns & Ammo www.gunsandammomag.com

All are good to keep up with equipment, techniques, politics, and the industry in general.
