What are ducks good for? I think I've only tried eating them once and it was a nasty greasy meat... or am I thinking of something else?

Oh btw I had some quail wrapped up in jalapeno, cheese, and bacon the other day... so much goodness.

Every year I think to myself this year I'm going to go duck hunting, then I never get around to it. Maybe this year I really will go.

Where are you located? I go all the time, hence my log in name.

I'll be there this weekend also. #1 for Sunday  but I'll be in the sweet line for Saturday :o. Nothing like duck hunting in the 93 deg heat of a Salton Sea afternoon.

I'd invite you to go with me, but I'm on the other side of the state.

Can I get a invite? Like anything else related to hunting.. it's tough to do without doing it with somebody that knows what they're doing dirst. I got my 26" Browning BPS that has yet to take something other than a clay target. Hmm.. need a duck stamp..

Sure, let me know when you want to go. We might have an opening in our group this weekend (opening weekend). You would need both a federal and state duck stamp, and waders ( I might have set depending on what size you ware).

I'm not a flake and i'm certainly grateful for the invite.. but I'm going to catch the closing weekend for deer (though I can still go for bear afterwards) in D9 this weekend. There's just something about being out in the forest by yourself, camping out, hiking the mountains, and finding/stalking prey that I just absolutely love. Nothing like bringing out that survivalist and hunter's instinct to get the blood flowing.

I'll definitely let you know when I'm ready to go and hopefully i'll still have a invite. When does duck season close?

No problem, duck season ends in the middle of January, so you have plenty of time. Just let me know, I go all the time.
