You'd almost certainly end up with a Democrat. Is that what you want?

Judging by his actions, I'd say we've already got one!

He's practically acting like a Democrat anyway. What a RINO. Get him out of office!

the line must be drawn somewhere.. republicans and democrats are the same thing.. globalist and facist... if we conservatives regain our republican party by dismantling it , scaring away the corrupt greedy scum and rebuild it back with constitutionalist then we might have a chance for a non police state and free future.. time is running out... time to act is now..

Because Republicans claimed that McClintock was unelectable. Nice self fulfilling prophesy there, no?;)

Anyone else remember Jim March, the CCW lobbyist that used to frequent this board? Remember how he pushed Arnold as a "stealth" progun candidate?

TT What ever happened to Jim March?

He had Pete Wilson's and the energy block's backing. Plus he promised to lower the state's budget deficit.

McClintock was considered unelectable because of his stand on abortion, but it wasn't like he'd make any headway there against a Dem controlled state senate and assembly.

Oddly enough, one of my business associates that happened to be mayor of a local community and ran as a Dem told me frankly that McClintock was qualified and capable of balancing the state budget.

Oh yes, I do remember comments by Jim March. It sure would be nice to hear what he has to say about Arnold at this point.

As to McClintock, I voted for the man. Even though folks claimed it was a wasted vote, that he had no chance of winning, I voted my conscience. I must say, I would feel that much more upset if I had voted for Arnold.....gun owners that voted for Arnold must feel sick to their stomachs at this point.

I've been in state for a long time, but grew up in New Hampshire so maybe my perspective is a little different. In NH they still elect Republicans who openly question Medicare and Social Security and want us out of the UN. Maybe a bit to the right of the average Republican, but they're easily elected and stand their ground. That's not the case in CA.

Arnold is no different than the majority of so called Republicans serving in this state - and CA has been producing such middle of the road Republicans for many, many years.

Arnold is in the same vein as Dukmejian and Wilson, Dick Riordan and Senators Kuchel and Goody Knowland. I'm a bit unsure of Hiyakawa, but let's not forget that Earl Warren was a Republican Governor also. And other than the red baiting, Dick Nixon was fairly middle of the road. I'm sure others can recite more names but Arnold seems like the latest in a long line.

The State Vs. The People
by Claire Wolfe and Aaron Zelman

The increase in government power is like a political arms buildup against the citizenry -- a vast expansion of the pretexts that the governing class has to attack the governed. A massive military buildup by one government can often subdue its foreign enemies without a fight. Similarly, contemporary statute books convey sufficient punitive power that citizens surrender without a fight in most potential conflicts with the government.

Americans should heed Wolfe and Zelman when they urge people to practice "living resistance" -- which means "committing your life to making sure that you never, through choice or inertia, help lay the bricks that build the police state."

People must summon the will and resolution to drive politicians out of their own lives. What is needed now is the same passion and outrage over political and bureaucratic aggrandizement that existed towards chattel slavery 140 years ago. We must recognize that possession of government office does not confer ownership rights over human beings....

If contemporary Americans can cease idolizing the State, a rebirth of the spirit of freedom will begin and the threat of America becoming a Police State will become far less foreboding.

How many times will people fall for that same old tired "don't waste you're vote" line?

When will people just vote their conceince and tell the propagandists to take a flying leap?

I keep getting this phone call coming in (id 000 000 0000) turns out I answered the phone last night because it was pissing me off them calling all the time (I'm on the do not call list). This is how I found out who it was. I work phones at home in the evening as part of my job. Anyway, the one thing I didn't think of at the time was letting this idiot have it with both barrels about Ahnold and his sellout re: microstamping. The next time I get a call from this guy, I'm going to rip him a new one and tell them to stop calling me and I'm no longer interested in the RNC or the DNC since you guys are all the frigging same!..

ok.. rant off...
