What's the going price for a new Glock 23 these day? I thought they were somewhere in the $570 range but I saw one today for $660 which seemed way too high.

Thanks!

wow.. they should range from about $499 to $589 depending on where you shop. Certainly no more than that tops!

I would expect to pay $550 or so for the basic model without night sights. If it were priced higher I would keep shopping.

Should be around $549. I'll try to get you an exact price from Ade's later on today when I go into work.

I got my G23 w/night sites for $550 shipped from Bud's Gun Shop earlier this year. After my DROS and FFL transfer fee (and no CA sales tax), it cost me $615 total.

Glocks with standard sites usaully run around the $550 price range locally.

I think I remember your 1st posts about wanting to de-neuter your old registered AR. Now you're building OLLs, buying Glocks on lunch... :43:

Good memory!
Worse than the AW goodies(which I'm almost done buying, promise!) is that I recently got into C&R rifles. I just brought home an M44 yesterday and a 1903A1 happened to get charged to my credit card whilst buying the Glock today. There's only about a bunch more old rifles I want...
My C&R license application hasn't even arrived at my house yet either.

This Glock completes my G.40 Trilogy so I shouldn't find myself looking for any more Tactical Tupperware for a while. Alas, while doing the paperwork, I was staring down at a Springfield 1911 MC Operator with a green frame. Who knew that would look so dang tempting??

I hadn't bought a gun in about 6 years, I've got to make up for it ;)

I remembered out of jealousy. ;)

1911's are amazing. You need one. Get a PPT on one for sale in the forum so you don't have to wait 30 days. :D

I got mine for 599 after a 50 dollar discount. I guess I might have gotten ripped but I felt comfortable at the dealer that I went to. He also has the Kimber that I have been looking at for 1299. Is there a place in the bay area that I could get it cheaper? I havent shopped around yet for one because of the wifeblock.

You know you really want to make that Glock .40 trilogy into a Glcok .40quintilogy.
Glock Model 22, Glock Model 23, Glock Model 24, Glock Model 27, Glock Model 35.

:p

I guess I had failed to also mention that I finally order the Kimber Pro Carry HD that I've been wanting for years during the same lunch trip today. I can't DROS it for a month due to the Glock, but I need to come up with some money to finish paying for it, so no big deal. It'll be an interesting conversation with my wife tonight...

We actually have two 1911s in the family already, my wife's father's service weapon from WWII and my 1991A1. Can't have too many though, right? ;)

So you can do PPTs on handguns without having to wait the 30 days? That's good to know!

I'm not all that interested in the long barreled models. If I shot in competitions, I'm sure I'd change my tune, however :)

You can do as many PPTs as you want at any time, regardless of handgun or long gun. :D

It's the real way to break the bank. The 1/month rule keeps things slow, but being able to get them anytime....

Yeah, I didn't really need to know that little tidbit of info. Oh well, I'll store it away for potential future use. Imagine the possibilities, you and three friends could all buy handguns on the same day, then you could buy the three they bought when you went to pick up after ten days. Stupid idea, but apparently possible. Extra pricey for you as you'd have to cover all the DROS fees!

--

Just told my wife about my little lunch outing. After a few seconds of shock, she was fine with it. Especially because the Glock 23 was for her, don't ya know. Oh yeah, and I never mentioned any prices :innocent:

I do need to sell a few items to cover the damage, anyone looking for a Nikon D200 or hardtailed mountain bike? ;)

Just for future reference on buying guns from summitgunbroker. I bought my glock17 from them and it came with 2 17 rounders. They switched out the hicaps for 10 rounders for me before shipping. Also the DOJ list doesn't have the different generations for glocks so you can get whatever is available like the 2nd generation glock 23 in the link I posted. It doesn't have to be a 3rd generation. Why? So you can occasionally get ok deals on really common firearms, accompanied by a lot of misinformation and attitude?

There are good places up in NorCal, too.

Don't forget 1.5 hours for a PPT, 2 hours to buy a new gun, buying a gun and having them lose it, listen to "problems with the computer" excuses, and the annoying process of walking back and forth from the counter and cashier. ;)

and their selling you a lock, even when one is in the case and you have a receipt from the guy you PPT'd.

I will say, I really like the guys in Redondo Beach. It's like it's not a Turner's. I almost forget to say they're good, as a result.

Really? That's the one right by my house and I do everything to avoid asking questions to the sales people. Man, if that's a good one, I'd hate to see a bad one!!

Really? Who do you talk to? There are two guys there that are really nice. I remember Jesse's name (he's here) and there's another, too.

Maybe I only go on good days... ?

Oh man, its ridiculous how long it takes to buy a gun at Turners. I think half the paperwork is CYA stuff, not forms required by law.

I don't know their names, like I said, I try not to ask them anything if possible. I haven't bought a gun from them in 8-10 years, but I buy supplies there from time to time. Maybe they have changed for the better, which would be great! Maybe I'll give them a chance next time I go in.

I've only dealt with them in the past year, so yeah, probably really different. Ask for Jesse, tell him you're on here.
