What would you hope they would gift to you?

Assume they are not comfortable with Assault type weapons and or parts. What would be your top 2 picks?

Edited for clarity...

My dad lives in NV and has gifted several firearms to me over the years. For each handgun I did pay my $19 fee and submitted the proper forms to the state. In no case did I ever ask dad to buy and later gift a firearm to me. All the guns he's transfered to me over the years were guns he's had for a while, with the exception of one new pistol that he just didn't like after buying it. It was CA compliant anyway. None of the guns I've gotten from him are prohibited here.

My Mom - who knows nothing about guns - recently purchased her 1st home defense revolver. She bought it from a next door neighbor whose husband recently passed away. At $250.00 I think Mom got a good a good deal on the 1970s vintage Python, although she's convinced otherwise and that she could have got it for less. I've told her the gun is not suited for home defense and will swap it for a 5" Model 60 Smith.
