I got this bolt in trade and was told it was a 308 bcg. Problem is, is that I cannot function check it as my hammer won't fit into the slot in this bcg. From my limited research I think it's either an older armalite ar10 bcg or older sr25 bolt. Pics are with my phosphate Dpms 308 bcg for comparison. Thanks for any replies.

I'm pretty sure that's an older Armalite as those surely had that narrow hammer cut.
The chrome bolt has me bothered though.
I don't have much experience with SR25's.
Do they have chromed bolts and carriers?

I'm not sure. The guy I got it from just told me it was from an mk11, but who knows.

Well, the chrome plating has me thinking it is a KAC.
The old armalites I have seen were parkerized.

Yeah I'm leaning that way too. What would everyone due in my situation? I have two Dpms builds that I'm working on. Shave the hammer, mill the bcg, sell it?

Looks similar to a chrome LMT MWS BCG...I did a Google Image search and it is probably an SR 25 BCG

I didn't check mine to see if it's magnetic, but most of the time stainless is not magnetic. Give it a shot. if it is magnetic it does not prove much, but if it is not, there you go, it's a stainless JP bolt.
