very newb on rifles, heck on everything. looking for iron sights for my OLL that's been stored for almost 1 yr w/o being shot at all. finally got a Eotech 512, but i want iron sights.

i read in the OLL picture thread about 1/3 co-witness. can anyone explain that?

do most sight makers (la rue, delton, arms, etc) make good flip ones? who does? (man, i see some of the prices for these things... almost can buy a hologram sight... sigh).

Everything you need to know about co-witnessing sights on an AR15 (http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=206233). Hope this helps.

I found this image of co-witness. Notice how the red dot sits on the top of the front post? For bottom 1/3, when the front post is centered in the rear sight, the red dot would be in the bottom 1/3 of the red dot's tube, instead of in the center. This allows less "overlap" of the front sight post into the field of view when the red dot is centered.
