Maybe 350 depending on the condition. 500 is way too much though. What kind of stock?

K31's have been going up in price, but not that high yet.

$300 to $350 tops

its a beech wood stock. i didn't get a good look at it but from what i saw it was good but not great. im going to go back down and take a better look at it later see if i can bring them down. now do walnut stocks go for more than beech wood?

Great advice. I've bought several from Simpsons and they sell nice rifles at fair prices

ive never bought a firearm online before and it seems like a bunch of fees you have to pay but i guess if you want one then that's the way to do it

You need to find a dealer who will accept incoming shipments for you. I have a buddy who is an FFL/pawnbroker who performs that service for me.

There will be shipping and FFL fees, but it should still be less than the $500 that you mentioned.

Avoid the fees/wait time and get it shipped direct with a C&R FFL.
Oh I paid $99 for my pristine one.

Pyfer...that is an option. Do you want to get a C&R FFL. Would probably take a few months, but you could get one shipped directly to your home.

I am eventually going to try and get one. so i talked to the guy at the shop sounded like he didnt know what he was talking about and wouldn't budge on price. he said that because it had the Swiss stamp on the receiver it was rare but i have seen a lot that have them more then don't. he also said it had stamps on the stock that made it rare. in conclusion i went on Simpsons and bought one this will be my first k-31 i have always wanted one though

Probably not considered so rare, considering there were over 500,000 made:

(Year) (Quantity) (Serial Number)
1933 1193 520010-521202
1934 15534 521203-536736
1935 13664 536737-550400
1936 11326 550401-561727
1937 11639 561728-573366
1938 10344 573367-583700
1939 15300 583701-599000
1940 33575 599001-632575
1941 54150 632576-686725
1942 49350 686726-736075
1943 50475 736076-786550
1944 51900 786551-838450
1945 26200 838451-864650
1946 15600 864651-880250
1947 20950 880251-901200
1948 20100 901201-921300
1949 15500 921301-936800
1950 13200 936801-950000
1951 23050 950001-973050
1952 21400 973051-994450
1953 5549 994451-999999
1953 7450 215001-222450
1954 17150 222451-239600
1955 11250 239601-250850
1956 6400 250851-257250
1957 2950 257251-260200
1958 3130 260201-263330

Check the serial number and you can determine what year it was made. That may help you decide whether it is worthy or not.

I just picked up two recently - a 1940 model with original diopter for far more than I probably should have (over $700) from an auction on Carol Watson, and one from 1948 off of GB for $400 which was in very nice shape... probably also overpaid a bit for it, but it was within a reasonable range IMHO.

I've seen them selling at both ends of the ranges, and everywhere in between, so the market is pretty active. Same for the 1911 - some are ridiculously high and others are very reasonable.

I see Simpson's has a '42 model on hold for $295, with a replacement walnut stock "with many dings and scuffs", so that should set the lower end of the bar for you I would think.

Love the K-31... love at first sight ever since Flyin' Brian let me check his out.
