Day of Resistance - Ventura County (https://www.facebook.com/DayOfResistanceVenturaCounty)

DayOfResistance.com & PeopleProtectingFreedom.com are sponsoring:

A CIVIL RIGHTS MARCH & PUBLIC MEETING
That will be held in Ventura, California on Saturday February 23rd, 2013

Californians will gather at the steps of City Hall in Ventura and commence a March at 11:30 a.m. down California Street and Main Street towards Mission Park where we will assemble for a Public Meeting at NOON to Rally and Protest the efforts of the California State Legislature to impose a de facto repeal of the 2nd Amendment. Speakers will inform the activists attending the Rally on what they can do individually and collectively to combat these proposals and what we can do if the ban goes into effect. The organizers of the Ventura Day of Resistance will provide the people attending with the tools and organization they need in order to effect real change.

I would to!

Anyone who wants to help can just PM me here or even better on the Facebook page.

I'd love to have Official CalGuns/CGSSA/CGF etc support. But I'm going to need member support to move this up the chain.

We need to make a big splash.

Conspicuously enough out here on the Left Coast, Los Angeles and Orange County have dropped the ball, we are running with it, hopefully we can get the word out fast enough to have a big impact.

I was at the last event on 1/19 in Sacramento. I was the guy with the big striped banner with the Rattle Snake wrapped about an AR15. I too would have gone up to the Sacramento rally, but I decided that the people who are willing to drive 5+ hours are already enthusiastic, and hopefully activists. I was asked to help organize and recruit activists and generate local enthusiasm, eventually leading to a larger statewide push. If we want to keep the rights enumerated in the 2nd Amendment here in California we need to move into action NOW.

Yee, Feinstein and others aren't waiting for us.

I will attend, I am not even a voter in this state, yet anyway. But if we don't start making some noise then we and our rights will be rolled over by the current administration! See ya there

We could come. How many do you think will attend?

Stanmerrel, I appreciate your commitment. Please if you can take the extra step of sharing the event on facebook, other forums, or at brick and mortar locations. One prospect I think is a potential gold mine is self defense studios, there are tens of thousands of women who have taken self defense or rape prevention classes who are our natural ally, think outside of the box, you would be surprised who you might find is a supporter, we just have to convince them to come the event, and if they cannot, then at least have them visit and join the facebook page and commit to sharing a few posts to other groups or message boards.

I think that the Ventura Event is shaping up to be pretty significant. I have no idea how many people though, really no idea. Should at least be high hundreds, maybe thousands? (hopefully)

We Booked Stewart Rhodes from Oath Keepers, we have Peter Foy coming and ... others are coming as well. We just got a promise for promotion by Ben Shapiro, we have a ton of various republican and libertarian groups coming, they have promised to show up in force. The OathKeepers alone should be a few hundred hopefully.

I am rallying the troops as much as I can, 20 hour days here on out.

I am going!!! :patriot:

I'm ALSO tentatively planning on going to IVE tomorrow night for the CSSA shoot if I can swing it... busy busy, I may just decide friday night is nap time.

Brandon Combs (wildhawker) from the Firearms Policy Coalition, Calguns Foundation, Second Amendment Foundation, ... (I swear he is in every organization) will be providing me with materials for our event.

If any CalGunners want to help with logistics we could probably use a few folding tables and a couple chairs.

Please DO bring your signs, remember Your Second Amendment Right IS A CIVIL RIGHT.

Volunteers can coordinate with me, though I am up past my eyeballs, if anyone wants to take some initiative and start self-organizing it would be HUGE.

Civil Rights attorney Bobbie Ross will be joining us in Ventura on Saturday to speak about ongoing litigation as well as federal and California legislation that the Second Amendment community is up against.

Great job organizing. My only feedback would be to keep these events in the 2A forum. Its kind of confusing to follow multiple postings with different info. I never click on the Ventura chapter because I don't live there.

I drove out today and thought it was a great turnout. Only thing I missed out n was the raffles because I didn't know those were going to go on. I only had a couple bucks on me so I let my kid dump them in the donations box.

Maybe you can help the March Huntington Beach rally organizer with some tips.

So I did the next best thing:

I got my two 6-year olds shooting paper with a pump pellet gun. After a little orange nail polish on the front sight, they both hit on the second shot.

I couldn't be a prouder dad. Raising 2 more voters for 2A rights here in Thousand Oaks.

The problem is that when you only post to one thread you may miss people who would otherwise attend the event but who aren't reading the second amendment thread.

I wish there was a way to merge the threads but still keep the each of the headlines in the various sub-forums.

If you notice on all the posts, there was a link at the top indicating that it is a cross-post to the Ventura ****y post.

If you come up with a better way let me know, we need to get the word out to as many people as possible, but without spamming people.
