Sorry I disappeared for a while, work you know. I would like to have a Marlin 336 with the action smoothed, trigger work. I have thought of shortening the barrel. Location San Jose, trying to locate a decent used 336, no luck.

If you don't mind sending it out, there are TONS of smiths - and quite a few good ones.

Try Wild West Guns (http://www.wildwestguns.com/)or Yost-Bonitz (http://www.yost-bonitz.com/packages/biglewie/) for starters.

Google is your friend..:)

And let me know if you find an extra decent 336! :D

What caliber of 336 are you looking for? I have a 336W in 30-30 I was considering selling so I could pick up a Marlin chambered in .45LC to match my pistol.
