Learn something new every day.
I thought you had 30 days from the time you started the DROS to pick up your gun. 10 day wait and then 20 more to pick up.
I waited 38 days, so I go down to restart the DROS, hand the salesman my paperwork and he comes back with my rifle. I’m telling him we need to start the DROS over and he was telling me no I didn’t. Finally he asked the owner. No problem. I was within the time frame. I guess it is 10 day wait Then 30 days?
Don’t you just love it when you “know” something for a fact and it turns out that you are wrong… I would have felt more foolish but I went home with my gun instead of paying for another DROS.

Is there a maximum time limit for me to pick up a gun after the dealer submits the DROS information?

Yes. If you do not take physical possession of the firearm within 30 days of submission of the DROS information, the dealer must cancel the sale. If you still want to take possession of the firearm, you must repeat the entire DROS process, including payment of DROS fees.

I knew it was 30 days from the start of DROS… on the other hand how could a brick and mortar gun store not know such a basic rule?
Is it things like this show up on an audit? You here about stores losing their FFL due to paper work errors, I hope this shop cleans up there are not many OLL friendly shops in the LA area…
Should I do anything? (Other than sending them http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/pubfaqs.php#16)

I'm not really sure what you should do, but I wanted to chime in on another point.

Why were you even a couple days past your 11-day wait period? I mean, I drive right over to the store as soon as they'll let me to pick up my 'new' firearm

Yeah, I can barely stand the 10 day wait as it is, let alone another 28 days!
