I bought the VX-I in wide reticle, but now I am think I should have gotton the LR. I plan on using this for hunting. Is there a lot of difference between the LR and the wide reticle? The LR reticle seems to have more sight ticks.

Looks like the LR duplex reticle has the two dots and should assist you in ranging distance.
This is the first time I see the LR duplex, but it looks like a bit of the mil-dot.

Their same line should have the same amount of adjustments.

wide duplex is for hunting. i never heard of the long range recticle. do you mean the tmr recticle?

either case, long range shooting should have some form of a mildot recticle in most cases.

in your case for hunting, the duplex is plenty good.
