Looking for some base screws for my Remington 700 IOR Base. Anybody know where I can find some replacements? I can find the 6-48 scews.. but noce that are of different lengths that'll be a drop in fit..

Get them from Brownells. If they're too long, you need to grind/file them down.

Be carefull. they are different sizes for a reason. I mixed them up and only found out when my bolt was unable to close. It scratched it slightly before I noticed and switched them back. The forward screw should be the shorter of the two.

Yeah.. I know that if they're too long, it'll get in the way of the bolt. That's why i'm trying to find screws with a drop-in fit! Guess I can't.. I'm leaning towards the Ken Farrel Torx head screws.

I looked at Brownells.. but I really don't need a pack of 12 and overpriced shipping. I just had some stuff delivered from them too!

I have a pretty good selection of scope base screws here.

I also have 8-40's which are a good upgrade. ;)

Doh.. wish I knew that before I ordered the Torx screws from Ken Farrell (4 for $4) especially since i'm taking my rifle to you to get some work done anyways!
