Give me ideas for creating a portable bullet trap so that the lead can be recovered and melted down for casting new bullets. With high volume shooting I think recovering Lyman #2 would pay for itself eventually.

I have heard phone books stop 22lr just fine.

That is a good design.

VERY simple and I bet noisey too.

BUT still a very good design.

I am more of a stealthy shooter and have a good pellet trap design that I will follow.

Purchase about 20LBS of that ballistic clay sold by GB and mount it in a 10x10 box with your target in front and that will stop the bullets and allow you to retrieve them as well as allow you to use a wooden frame and keep it somewhat light. Just make certain that your clay is about 4 inches thick or so and refrain from using hyper velocity rounds.
