Hey guys, great site. I found out about it from Ajax posting over at THR about his school run in. Great place you all have going here and hope I can lurk around a little bit and soak up some information. In the meantime, here is a pic of my P89 that I am kinda partial to. Hope you all enjoy.

Ya, I have a P89 also....

Even bought one of those stainless spare parts kits back when the LA county sheriff's sold firearms to some dealer under the agreement that he would destroy the frame and only sell the parts so I got me every single part but the frame for $49 on fleaby back in the day.

And it is amazingly reliable in liking every kind of ammo.

Only thing is it is the least accurate of all my 9mm's.

I hear this is a common complaint with the rugers. They are reliable but if you want to hit something with one you are better off throwing it at it like a rock.

I think the Mini-30's second biggest complaint is this. The biggest complaint is that in the interest of cutting out competition and making big fat juicy profit ol' Ruger himself supported anti gun legislation and with his big fat political donations got his stuff explicitly excluded. For their anti gun except for Ruger gun stance has soured me on their products.

P89's just won't stop. You won't have kaBoom problems with 'em either - tough guns. They, and cockroaches, will survive a nuclear war :)

For accuracy improvement, maybe look into an aftermarket bbl - they are out there, unsure of mfgr. Before you do that, try various brands/loads of ammo.

Lotsa bulk 9mm ammo isn't all that accurate so you may be blaming some of the gun for some of the ammo.

The sister gun to the P89, the Ruger P90 in 45ACP, is one of the most accurate production 45s out there w/quality ammo.

I have no accuracy complaints with mine, and I shoot WWB, winclean and range reloads. you can tell what I am shooting by where it hits, but I just adjust for it and go on with my day.

I have a P89DC. It is not my favorite gun but it goes bang every time. Reliable like a revolver.

Kermit you should find a set of these Hogue rubber finger grips, I have had a set on my mine for 6 or 7 years. Love them

I do have them in that picture, but the picture is a little dark.

I miss shooting it :(
