Decided to not get a 7mm remington mag rifle and instead a SA rifle in 260 remington

But brass seems to be not as abundant as let's say the 308.

I read that you can form a 260 case from a 308 case, any ideas how?
really loving the BC and ballistics of the 260 remington!

There are plenty of threads on the Hide. The only hard part seemed to be shaving the neck to be within spec once formed.

Don't form from 308.
Get Winchester 7-08 brass and just neck it down in the sizing die.
That's what most of the 260 match shooters in so-cal do.
Or, just buy Remington or lapua brass...

You can neck down from 308 (in two steps 7mm-08, then 260), from 7mm-08 or up from 243, each has their plus and minus.

Or go here and get Lapua in 260 Remington and not look back: http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/

The good news is being 260 Remington it is in stock, the bad news it won't ship until March 6th because of all the 308 Win brass they have to ship ahead of your 260 Remington. ;)

Sweet thanks!
A lot of people I've been talking and conversing to has been telling me to start with a 308 as my first precision bolt rifle
So I think I'm heading that way :)

260 Remington is a pretty sweet caliber. 308 Win is far more plentiful and prices for things like brass are significantly less, even Lapua is almost 30% less for 308 vs 260, ironic since it starts out as the same brass.

308 is a great caliber, but I would liken it to driving the family station wagon, versus 260 as Dad's sport coupe.

Come to think of it, I learned to drive in the family station wagon.. ;)
