If you buy stencils DO NOT buy Bull Dog Armories! They stencils do not stick to crap...

I am going to touch it up a bit during the week. Add another color and more designs...

I don't believe they ever were intended to :D

Looks good. What type of paint did you end up using?

Well your trying to get the pattern and they keep coming off and screws up your design.

I just used Krylon from Walmart. I am not that happy with it but we will see when I add more designs tomorrow, I ran out of sun light today.

You did this all in one day?

You really should let the paint cure before you start sticking more stencils on and putting on the next color.

I used a simple two color scheme with my Savage last year using Alumahyde II and I let the first color cure for 3 days before I went to the next color.

Short of "prep time" that nobody can stand...its gotta be DRY TIME that ranks second as the biggest culprit why most dont like thier paint jobs...

But that said..looks like you did wait long enough; Wally krylon does have a quick dry time...but for future sake...WAIT at least one day...How Do I know? BTDT on wayyy to many bad jobs 'cause of poor prep or not waiting the right time for second/third/fourth coat...and/or color:chris:

But FWIW it DONT look bad. Not really 'my' colors but if you're happy with then keep sprayin' it!!!!!!!!!

Took me about 8 hours. I let the paint dry more than the recommended time.

It is all sanded down awaiting new paint job. I have abandoned digi camo, trying something else. I should finish this weekend.

silly question, but did you just spray bomb the rifle with the scope on?

what did you cover up/mask?

how much does the scope take (painted-wise) before the thing is messed up?

Yea I did this time. I have a new scope ready for the rifle but I wanted to test this out with a cheap scope first. I disassembled the rifle though but I was going to go shooting tomorrow and didn't want to waste half the day zeroing the scope, saving that for during the week when no one is there.

I used blue painters tape and masked the edge of the scope and covered the lens area.

the second time came out a lot better than the first....I've been thinking of doing this to my savage for awhile now but am going to go all the way and probably have someone duracoat the whole thing...I used spray paint on my ak and it didn't hold up too well...looks good though

I'll let you know how it holds up. I was hoping it would last 6 months and after 6 months I would be bored of it and try a different design :p. It only took me about 45 min to sand everything down after my first try.
