I just completed my DIY tumbler. How much water do I fill up the tumbler? What is the brass to SS media ratio do I use?

Depends on lots of stuff. How big is the tumbler how big of motor it has. I run one gallon of water 5 lbs of stainless media.

for water i just cover the cases. Ratio depends on how big your drum and motor is. motor will tell you if you have to much weight in it as it wont turn or it will turn to slow. Thumlers is 15lb total weight, when i got the SS pins it had a note in it saying 2lbs of cases, 2lbs of water and 5lbs of SS pins.

Interesting.

I use enough water to keep things wet, and just cover the top of the case pile.

stainlesstumblingmedia.com recommends 1 gallon of water, 2 lbs brass, 5 lbs media.

I use equal parts by weight, 5 lbs water which is 5 pints, 5 lbs brass, 5 lbs media.
