Yes people there are things for your prep that are free. And here are some of the things that you can get for FREE.

1> AM-PM: Go to any AM-PM and when you get your morning coffee, You can get up to 3 bags of tea, 4 books of matches, A fist full of Sugar, Salt and Pepper.

2> Round Table Pizza: When you order Pizza for home delivery, They will allways ask if you want Paper Plates, Napkens, Peppers and Cheese. Get all you can get.

3> Local resterants: Check out the salad bar. If they have peppers, sunflower seeds, and something that looks like sticks, Then order a salad. Take a few of the 2oz cups, and fill them with seeds, sticks, and pepers. Put on the lids and take them home.

4> Your Local Bar: Some bars have Peanuts, Chips and Check's Party Mix for you to eat. After all, the more salty snacks you eat, the more beer you drink.
Get your little/LARGE Zip-Lock bag and stock up.

There you go, Some things you get for free just for eating and drinking.

Does anyone have other bright Ideas ?? :D

It's not free. It's figured into the overhead costs. Why does a slurpee cost $1.79 when it is only a .01 cent cup and .02 cents of frozen flavored water?

Those "Life Hacks" are there but they are not "Free".

Plenty of ways to work the system if you feel the need to.

Of course I'm cheap. I learned it the hard way.
5 Years ago, I got caught in the Credit Card trap.
I had over 20 credit cards. From Sears to Capital One.
By being "CHEAP", I am now down to 9 cards, and by the end of Febuary,
I will be down to 7 cards.

My job is the only job that gets you fired for doing a great job.

I will NEVER go on wellfair EVER.... I'll die first.
I get free food and drink, because I trade my work for food and money.

And it is prepping to a point. Just as when I do receive a large sum of cash, I up to 250 Gal. of fuel. Then hold it till the price goes up. Then, I get my $40.00 worth of fuel, and if I need more, I draw it out of my storage tanks.

When gas was $4.99 a gal, I was still burning $3.95 fuel. And it got me by.

Grandma... I remember my Grandma. Great gal. Mom is 91 and she does remember when times were bad, Very Bad.

I don't do the All you can eat thing, I am not like that. And I don't execpt to load up to the gills in this stuff. The idea here is to get people started. If you start out small, and you do see your little pile grow, Then you're on your way to start prepping.

The pizza man that comes to my home, Brings me my pizza, drink, ($21.56) and he always gives me a plastic bag with peppers and cheese. Also, 2 mints.
I don't get a discount for not using them, But I don't want to throw them away. So I saved them. And I have a lot of them.

NOW, If the pizza comes again, and he is out of peppers and cheese, Well, I have a stash of peppers I can use. There for, I AM prepping for when the pizza man comes with NO cheese and peppers.

Basicly, Start small and as your pile starts to grow, you can see what you have done and that will get you started for the big stuff, Like water, MREs, Can goods, Rice, ect...

By the way, that Grandma thing IS funny.

yes, all of those things are built into the overhead costs.
when at hotels, I always grab, daily, the Coffee/tea packets, plastic cups, shampoo/soap, and whatever else they have that is not in the fridge (thats extra cost), i usually request extra coffee stuff even.
KFC, I always request 6 or more plates, and utensils, and grab some honey and butter packets
Century movie theatres, I always grab a handful of salt packets, usually using about half on my popcorn, and have a drawer at home
McD' a few packets of ketchup
I always grab napkins and sugar packets from anywhere that has them.
Little Ceasers Pizza, especially, I always request a hand full of napkins

ohiknow, That is right. I get fired or laid off if I do a great job. And here is why. I repair ARCADE machines for a living And I do a great job fixing the game, It stays working for years.

I work at 3 arcades. I have all the games to the point where I can check all 80 machines in 4 hours. When I first started at one arcade, I spent 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. After a month of work, I got all games working to the point that all I need was just 2 hours each day to get the arcade ready.

That was when the owner of the arcade gave me the greatest reward I could ever received. " You did a great job, and I am very happy with your work."
I was happy. Then the BOMBSHELL. "But, because everything is working, I'm afraid I have to cut your hours from 8 hours down to 2 hours."

That's the arcade biz.

Housing, EBT cards, welfare checks and food stamps are free if you're in need

Next time you're in line behind an EBT user watch when they bring in the second basket full of stuff that is not covered and pay for it with a $100 bill out of their stuffed wallet then go load it up into their new Suburban. This is one program that should be scrapped and you have to go stand in a welfare line to get your families weekly food. Make it so much trouble that only the truly needy will apply. Then this state may get back in its feet.

Filipinos, or at least the ones that immigrated here, are just like this. Freeloading sons of bleep bleep.

Why do you think Mcdonalds started having their ketchup in pumps instead of little packets?? because all the filipinos would take them home and put it in their kitchen drawers and use them the next morning on their eggs.

You think that filipino social club at the nearby church gives a crap whatever they're talking about?? HELL NO! they only come to the potluck so they can eat a buffet of lechon and panciit at the end of the meetings.

Is it me or do i see my cousins and other relatives and filipinos using way more napkins than they need to, then next thing i see those napkins on their breakfast table.

Trust me dude. where ever you work at observe the next time your job or company treats the workers to a full lunch. You'll see the filipinos stuffing their plates and covering it with another plate and putting rubber bands around the whole thing to hold it in place.

not sure if there still likes this but arbys use to keep all there plastic ware and condiments out for the customer. I liked them since they had mayonnaise / BBQ sauce as well as mustered / ketchup pepper salt. I haven’t been to one in years but just outa high school i was broke and semi homeless so would head there when i got a few bucks, so i could grab a little extra plastic ware for my "camp". id even ask the workers about it and they didn’t mind, but ididn’t go crazy either just a few extra.
One of my friends now owns and runs a restaurant, he hates old ladys and men. Its amazing the amount of stuff people take / steal from places. Its why retail stuff is priced so high over cost since there’s so much employee theft as well as normal theft. I try not to judge people since you have no idea where there coming from but i abhor theft to my very soul. i cant say im innocent as ive stolen food from a super mamarket or two when hunger got the better of me. Even as a child i stole some none essential items baseball cards / micro machines / cigarets. If you have the means and your a thief though... o wait there i go judging people again.

LOL If you're filipino and you're reading this and you're laughing because I'm right, well high five brother (or should i say Kuya?) lol

hehe. . . yup to all the above!

My girl Friend lives in the desert:rolleyes: and she calls me every week. A few months ago, when she called me, she had shot a jack rabbit and was making a stew. Guess what she added to the stew? Red Pepper from the pizza man.:D

She also asked for money so she can get some clothing. I ask what did she do with the jackrabbit skin ?

I sent her another $500.00

Last thing I wanted to see was her NEW Jack Rabbit Thong..

Am I sick or what?:D

Whats the downside?

I remember while in college (late 80's) that one of my friends and I went prepping (before it was called prepping, back then it was called poor college student)in the cafeteria in the style that was mentioned above. We decided to get free soda.

My buddy brought a back pack with an empty 2 liter bottle and decided to pour glasses of soda into the bottle. It sounds great! free soda! Upon pouring we experienced a horrible disaster! It seems that the soda ran down the side of the glass totally missing the bottle and soaking his crotch. After the shock of the cold, all my buddy could say was Ahh F***. I instantly knew what happened and couldn't stop laughing. We ended up sitting there for about 30 more minutes till the soda on his jeans dried enough to be able to walk back to our dorms without too much shame.

Be careful of what you get for free sometimes, its not worth it!

================================================== ========

I just ordered a pizza last night, From MMP. I guess they read my posting. I didn't get any cheese or peppers. But I got a great pizza and that will last me 3 days.

Question? Does anyone know anything about Gleaners? I know that they give food to the needy. NO !!! I don't go to the Gleaners. There are needy people that needs the food more than I do.

I'll work for my crap.

not sure if there still likes this but arbys use to keep all there plastic ware and condiments out for the customer. I liked them since they had mayonnaise / BBQ sauce as well as mustered / ketchup pepper salt. I havenít been to one in years but just outa high school i was broke and semi homeless so would head there when i got a few bucks, so i could grab a little extra plastic ware for my "camp". id even ask the workers about it and they didnít mind, but ididnít go crazy either just a few extra.
One of my friends now owns and runs a restaurant, he hates old ladys and men. Its amazing the amount of stuff people take / steal from places. Its why retail stuff is priced so high over cost since thereís so much employee theft as well as normal theft.

How about The Hat, their pastramis and chilli cheese fries are killer. But on topic, they have the ketchup, mayo, mustard, horse radish etc... all out for the customer to take. To be honest the only thing I ever loaded up on was the yellow peppers.

oh yeah, i've seen that. nothing new to me.

filipinos will keep gatorade bottles and put adobo in it and freeze it. or they will keep all the plastic containers you get from restaurants when you take food to go.... wash them, and reuse them.

Gillious,

You seem to be embarrassed of your own kind. Calling them sons of *****es is not cool. Your mom/ dad or grandmother/ grandfather where immigrants at one point in their life, that's why you are here.

Now I don't condone hoarding or smooching of others, but if you knew what these "immigrants" went through in the Philippines you would know why they do what they do.

I'll play.
At the grocery store I always ask for paper bags. I save them and use them for kindling to start my wood stove that we heat our entire house with from wood harvested here by me.

Instead of ordering take-out and getting free condiments, make your own food and buy the same condiment packets in bulk with the money saved by cooking for yourself. You'll have more money, more condiments, and better food.

Grandma, is that you? I told you to stop posting on here.

Agreed. Laughing my *** off. Totally my Grandma.

On a serious note though that generation went through the kind of suffering and deprevation in the Great Depression that necessitated that behavior. We may find out soon enough.

At the risk of resurrecting a dead thread, here are some things I've seen. My grandparents went through the Depression and definitely weren't rich. In fact, in the '40's and later my grandma was a single mother on welfare without receiving any $$ from her husband.

Drive ins - Taco Bell always gives handfuls of salsa packets. They go bad after a while though.
I got lemon juice packets somewhere.
We've got lots of paper grocery bags which we reuse. Plastic bags too.
Old shirts = rags, unless they're rotten like mine become!:D
Dog food bags are quite sturdy and may be good for something ... so I save them.
We save tin foil when it can be reused, then small pieces go folded into my backpack.
When I was at college, I would get good stuff out of the dumpster including a very nice London Fog leather jacket. Other items were appreciated by local thrift stores.

My great aunt had Alzheimer's and would fill her purse with the sugar packets etc. at restaurants. (No, I don't do that) When we cleaned out her house we found silverware she had taken :( Another helpful tip from her - she hid her jewelry under the bathroom sink, wrapped in tp, so the man who swindled her couldn't find it!

A new thing I'm doing - sending for free samples. Started in December and have so far gotten shampoo, roll of tp, coffee samples, emergen-c packets, toothpaste.

Call me frugal!

Forgot all those free sandpaper-like paper towels you can get when you stop for gas, TP in the men's room too. Go to Chevy's, get a glass of water, and eat all the free chips & salsa you can before you get kicked out too!

Backpackers raid KFC and Popeyes for honey packets.

They need to read better... Idk about popeyes, but kfc gives out a high fructose syrup flavored like honey.. Pretty nasty stuff. Pretty stupid when you figure bees give us honey for free. We need more bee keepers in this world.

staterbros.com signup for the coupons and you can get free soda! Just pay crv I think... Like .70 for an 8 pack of 12 oz bottles.

Also, go to chick-fil-a for free hot sauce packets. the good stuff, Tabasco and some other ones too.

I hope everyone knows the ol' "buy a large plastic drink cup from jack in the box/BK/MD and refill all week at any location" trick. BUT what about this... At jack, all the toppings are free, so instead of ordering a jumbo jack wit cheese, order a big cheeseburger (a little cheaper but only comes w/ ketchup, mayo and cheese) then add the lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions for free.

If you get arrested you get 3 free meals and a cot.

My Great Uncle Dutch did that every winter when it got too cold to sleep outside. He would take a trash can and smash out a store window and get locked up in county for about 90 days. Just long enough for spring to roll around.

He was a 100% bona fide HOBO.
