Berdoo Canyon Road (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=indio,+CA&ie=UTF8&ll=33.81186,-116.173704&spn=0.004484,0.00766&t=h&z=17&om=1)

Not a great location, but it is BLM and they are cool with it. Make sure to pick up your trash etc. It is kind of a messy area and I typically try to take some extra trash back with me when I go.

Cheers!

It is off of Dillon Road and the 10 in Indio. Just go north on Dillon and make a right on Berdoo. It is a couple hundred yards up the road (not hard to miss). If you go to the link I posted and then zoom out, it will give you a good idea as to where it is.

With regard to OLL; I don't own any, but I also have never been bothered by anyone over there.

Cheers!

Well I tried going today and I just couldn't find the road berdoo. Is there a name somewhere on that road off Dillon? I passed through alot of roads without names, just didn't know which one berdoo was.

I usually head horth on Dillon and make a right on the first road after the landfill. Follow it after the pavement, it curves left then comes to a fork, take it to the right. you should see the spot where people shot.

I just moved to the Palm springs and am looking for a good place to shoot. So is Berdoo canyon rite by the sand and gravel plants or is it more up in Indio Hills. I talked to a Riv. Co. Sheriff a few weeks ago and he said there was a canyon in Sky Valley and in DHS at the end Hacienda and longcanyon it was ok

You left the beach?
I hope the money was good.

Palm Springs Gun Club is your best bet.

Is this place cool to shoot at? I will be going in a couple of weeks out to indio again, I will either go to the berdoo canyon rd. where you told me, or here if it's legal, and I dont get in any trouble with the law.

bluesky - That is the spot

glockk9mm - The road is a little rough, but a car should be no problem, if need be.

The spot I go, sometimes there is nobody else. Other times there might be 2 or 3 other people.

If you drive up Berdoo Cnyn Rd. to the wash (where many people shoot) you should be fine in a regular car, but once you cross the wash and continue up the road all bets are off. A pickup might be able to hang for a mile or so, but clearance gets sketchy. If you want to go all the way up to Berdoo Camp 4WD is a necessity.

Necroposter. Apologies. I was doing a search for info about shooting in the area and responded before seeing the date. :surrender:

its okay to shoot at Berdoo Canyon Road. I am not sure about OLL though, even though legal you may get hassled by rangers. I once got hassled for my benelli S90, the guy was just a jerk. He claims he thought I had an AW, just a BS excuse IMO to hassle me.

If you have a 4x4 Berdoo Camp is your best bet, out of site out of mind. Its a little harder to find if your not familiar with the area though. I love Berdoo Camp, I think its a great spot since you cant get to it without 4x4 Just go early.

There is another spot 2nd street on the right after the canal on Dillon. Just follow the dirt road all the way in. It is also BLM..

Am I looking for a paved road or a complete dirt road for this spot? I beleive one of the roads is called landfill road right after the canal, is it after that one? And will I need 4x4 for this one?

Sorry this is a little late. No not landfill road, but the next road after that one and no you do not need a 4x4.. The road is paved for about half a mile then becomes a dirt road that banks left. At about 300 yards you can either go straight or turn right. Either way you will find a nice place to shoot.
