Hey Everyone,

Sorry, this thread is going up so late, I was out of town all week at SHOT Show with the awesome folks from GunVault.tv (http://www.gunvault.tv). If you didn't get a chance to attend the show or check out any of their coverage be sure to subscribe to their YouTube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/GunVaulttv?feature=mhee) and their Twitter Feed (https://twitter.com/GunVaultTV) as we shot a lot of video, attended the GLOCK Reception, and met with some of the best and the brightest of the shooting world which will be shown in videos to come.

So enough with the advertising and on with the thread. Welcome to the first shoot of the year to be held at the Burbank Firing Line. We're excited to be back and have some fun things planned for 2013. If you didn't see the announcement in the LAX event thread, we'll be doing a raffle this year for the LA Chapter, and each attendee will get one ticket thrown in the pot for each event they attend. We'll pull tickets for prizes during the year and the person will have the option of taking that prize, or giving it up for a chance at the drawing at the end of the year. As for what we're giving away, you'll just have to come out to one of our events and see for yourself.

*Again, for those that didn't get tickets at the LAX event earlier this month that plan on attending Burbank, let me know and I'll make sure you get two tickets.

It's been a crazy week, and I look forward to getting some rest and seeing everyone on Friday!

- RoundEye

P.S. This event will mark 30 days and I'll finally be able to take down this ridiculous avatar. :)

* * *

It's that time again. Join us at The Firing Line in Burbank (1060 North Lake Street, Burbank) for the NEXT LA C3 Monthly Shoot of 2013 which will be held on 01/25/2012 @ 7:00 PM.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - The only permitted rifles must be of handgun caliber (9mm, .40, .357, 5.7mm, etc... are acceptable). ARs/AKs of the 22lr variant are also welcome.
Shotguns - Unfortunately, given the size of the range (47ft), shotguns are NOT permitted.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** Firing Line members are free to attend.

REMINDER: - When you're there your actions represent the entire CalGuns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

As usual, we'll be able to utilize their training room to eat dinner, hangout, chit-chat, and purchase swag. In addition, as usual they will be reserving an entire side of the range for us, and depending on the turnout we may have to take turns and/or expand into the other range. We'll also be providing Costco pizza for anyone that is hungry and wants to eat.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Friday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

* If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact me for details. *

Never been to the Burbank Firing Line, do we have to buy range ammo or can we bring our own?

You can bring your own, or buy it there. If you choose to buy it there we get a member pricing which I think is 10% off.

Can i ask a favor of someone maybe? Being from Texas my M&P full size .40 is a standard free world capacity and I have not been able to find a 10rd magazine anywhere (seriously been looking for almost 2 months).

If anyone has one can they bring it and let me use it while we are there? I have tons of .40 ammo and its the most economical for me to shoot right now but i don't have a 10rd mag for it.

I'd lend you one if I had an M&P. Have you tried calling the range to see if they have one that's a rental? If they did I'm sure they'd lend you a magazine. And there are enough of us that are members I doubt they'd charge you anything.

I was going to say if you had the standard mags before 1994 in Cali then they're legal to possess as long as you don't buy, sell, manufacture, or import them. But, I don't think the M&P was around back then.

My homestead is the SFV, but I'll be in Burbank tomorrow night if you can even swing by for a few. If not, I'll probably be going to Angeles Tuesday or Thursday of next week (morning/afternoon) of you can meet there. There is also the LAX shoot the second week of February. Oh and I it's not raining, I'll be shooting IDPA in Piru on Saturday. If you never tried it, I highly recommend it. Any of that work for you.

If we can line up a babysitter, the wife and I may swing by. Unless having a 3-yr-old princess flirting with all the boys would be welcome...

Check with RoundEye, we have a small room for the calguns to use.. And we usually stay there when not shooting, you can at least alternate to go shoot in the range.

I leave this to you discretion as a parent. We so have access to the training room for hanging out and such. If you wanna give it a try, you're welcome to and we'll keep the conversation rated G.

Not sure if it makes a difference or not, but I'll be there around 6:30PM or so. As for the Shoot & Q, I won't be there on Sunday, but I am sure one of the C3 guys will be. I just don't know if they have any swag for sale. It would be best to contact the organizer directly about that.

If not there is always next month, or LAX in a couple of weeks.

I just got back from the hospital, my mom broke up a fight between my dog and her dog (little dog but she's old and thin skin) and just had to get a shot and a couple stitches.

I don't have anything ready and i have so much stuff and magazines taken apart since moving to CA from TX that i think im out. Really sounds like a good time and im dying to meet some local shooters but there is no way id be ready to leave in 30 minutes let alone get to Burbank Friday night in the rain.

A rifle sighted at 25 yards will be on target at 300 yards (or was it meters, either way the light bulb turned on)
My XDms can out shoot me (thanks goes to Chad for the verification, makes me want to practice more)
I have to practice more to win the 20 out of 20 shirt
Costco is literally across the street from the Firing Line
It is really hard to see the end of the range in the shadows without my binoculars
There will be Calgunners that will shoot until closing

Seriously though, it was nice meeting all of you. Thanks to Chad for being a great host. Looking forward to the next time I can make it.
