Tonight I was playing around with Google Earth and I went looking for Chabot Gun Club (Castro Valley, CA). It was a pleasant surprise to find that someone had marked it already, so it was easy to zoom right in.

Modern satellite technology is astounding. At the lowest level for best resolution, it was possible to see people during a target check / change period walking on the range itself, although which way they're going can't be determined.

With resolution like that, see if you can find your range. Let us know where it is so we can look at it too.

Chabot's reference is: 37 d. 44 m. 43.96 s. N / 122 d. 06 m. 04.03 s. W

100 feet only, but it's close.

Or 300 feet if I walk to the side of the house.

I have three in my area I can get to within one hour. One 15 mins, another 30 mins (indoor) and the third about 1 Hr. There is a fourth I haven't gone to yet. It probably is about 45mins away.

I've got Chabot (rifles) about 30 minutes away, and San Leandro (handguns) is only a ten minute drive.

I shoot at Shooters Paradise in Oxnard. Might have to come up with something different though, the lighting in the place makes my eyes fuzzy for some reason. besides, i like to shoot cheaper stuff than winclean.
