LEGISLATION PENDING: (Votes could come at any time!)
AB1471 (http://nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml?summary=ab1471&year=2007) (Feuer) MICROSTAMPING - This bill would, commencing January 1, 2010, expand the definition of "unsafe handgun" to include semiautomatic pistols that are not designed and equipped with the unproven technology of a microscopic array of characters that identify the make, model, and serial number of the pistol, etched into the interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol, and that are transferred by imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired. This is the notorious Fix your gun -- face a felony bill!
STATUS: On the Senate Floor -- OPPOSE

Jeezus. I'm absolutely convinced they ignore the will of the people, let alone common sense. Absolutely convinced. They must be hearing some serious heat about these issues.

A little bit of an aside, but I was looking over some SoCal NF websites in the last couple of days, and for shooting areas, they say you must use lead based bullets - yet they also say to use lead free for hunting.
How do they expect anyone to sight in a rifle with the hunting ammo they recommend?

Don't let this slip your mind if you haven't contacted your reps.
