View Full Version : How about a Gun Images Forum?

A gun pictures/images forum for people to show off their guns would be nice.

Almost every other thread in Rifleman's and Handgun forum is a thread of somebody posting pictures of thier new guns.

How many threads do we need in the discussion forums that consist of a post of someone's gun and 15 replies of people saying "sweet", "awesome gun", or "where did you get that upper?".

It would help clean up the other forums to make information more easily accessible for both searches and general browsing. Good posts with technical information wouldn't get bumped as fast and people wouldn't keep asking the same questions twice a week. (or they would do it less) The discussion forums should be for just that: discussion. Picture threads don't tend to lead to any sort of meaningful discussion.

For example say if someone is curious about the quality of stag uppers, if he searches the rifleman forum with the term "stag upper" many of the results will be posts with pictures of people's ARs with stag upper listed as a component. This makes it difficult to have to wade through literally tons of threads to find a small tidbit of information you might need.

On the other hand, an image forum would be good for people who want to search with the intent of seeing what a stag upper looks like: they could go into the images forum with the same search "stag upped" and find a picture of one on somebody else's gun to see if he likes how it looks.

If we did it, there would definately be traffic in the forum and it would be put to a very good use.
