lookin for stock and handguard for m1 carbine.
i would like something i can bolt on and take to the range and not worry about damaging, so that i can keep my original preserved in my closet
color and historical accuracy dont matter, ill consider anything in verygood or better condition

i should clarify - im looking for a traditional M1 carbine stock, nothing folding or with pistol grip, etc

I think I read on another forum (maybe Gunboards or CMP I forget which) that Cheaper than Dirt had some used carbine stocks that were cleaning up pretty nice. The poster was sorta complaining that the cheaper CTD stocks were cleaning up nicer than the wood that he'd spent decent money on. They are rated good not VG, though.

I got a SWEET carbine stock from Northridge Inc. at the last gunshow in Costa Mesa, it was $50 and I got a matching handguard for $15. If you want a shooter I bet they have something for $30 or so, they are only open a few days a week but it is well worth the drive to their warehouse so you can pick through the boxes of parts and stocks. Last time I went I spent $600.
Just inspect everything very well, sometimes there is some crap mixed in.
