View Full Version : I think Iggy is a Calgunner

Piper

That doesn't mean that Iggy agrees with Calgunners, it just means that he has a Calgun account. I'm not sure what his user name is, but he's in here somewhere.

I'm sure he lurks, but I'm not sure he's got an account.

Any evidence to back that up? Or.. what gave rise to your hunch, if that's the case?

I assume at least several DOJ staffers belong to or monitor Calguns.

There are probably some line-level DOJ BoF people that are Calguns members too that are just regular shooters, and who have to keep a low profile.

DOJ senior mgmt is trying to figure out how we can be shaped into "subversives". We know some LEOs have been told not to join Calguns by their mgmt as Calguns was said to be 'subversive' by DOJ.

Warnings have come to me (not that I needed it) and some others here that not everyone is who they say they are and to use care if personal communications (PMs) ensue.

I know of one guy at the DOJ who signed up but never showed after registering an account here. He looked like a guy who liked 4 wheel drives and guns by a google search of his user name, Im sure the higher ups in the BOF wouldn't have liked it so maybe thats why he didn't finish the process to post.

I cant see one down side to having a agent/clerk post here with the goal of working with law abiding gun owners at CalGuns but maybe thats one goal they dont care to meet.:chris: I was hoping JB would change the direction of BOF and have the few clerks who do answer our questions post here but it looks like they are still playing games and want lawyers and a few CalGunners to deal with the mess they have made.

IMO the owner of Calguns has made the forum friendly for anyone willing to post anything about Firearms, I cant remember once anyone being kicked out for posting material in favor of gun control so even if they did we would keep it civil.

Okay, I've had it with the speculation!

I can't stand the pressure of the double life!!

I admit it! I am nothing more than a computer composite of Iggy, Alison and a pomeranian that snuck in to the convertor pod!

There is a self avowed DOJ staffer who posts here form time to time. If you read his post history, he is up front about it.

Hey, our IS department did this to us at work. Now my computer at work doesn't run all the programs it used to and is very slow. Maybe your friend from the FBI can push some software onto our computers to undo the damage left by our IS department? :)

As for Iggy, I think he's a well meaning, stupid public servant without any common sense who developed an over inflated ego concerning his self worth and importance. Give him some slack, he is well meaning.

Seems simple enough. We are talking about government bureaucrats so I can not see them using there own to do work related stuff and doing all this secret spying while bored at work and using their DOJ computer.

King$nake was not a DOJ employee, just a budding gun enthusiast that felt like he was attacked for making a naive statement. My guess is that he was embarassed after that thread and decided to just bail on the board. I sold him his upper and most of the other parts to build his rifle. I felt kind of bad for the guy but I guess he didn't have a thick enough skin to hang around and ride out the storm.

Just a point of contention, but you don't go to an import tuner message board for Hondas and make statements to the effect that modifying a Honda should be illegal and is a poor choice of cars to race anyways.

Really it won't end well no matter how right you are. And you should not be surprised at the responses such an attitude would garner.

There was a silence, the type where you can hear your breath fighting to pull in the air heavy with a solemnity albeit coupled with stuttering disbelief at the amazing success of the Off-List Lower/Receiver tidal wave, and late in the night, alone at my pixels and alpha-numeric buttons, welcoming the sound of a faint tick from an old spring wound clock.

My sanity assured me I was alone, the house vacant, none moving about the atmosphere save for my wandering mind. It was warm that January, but the prior fall was blessed by the gracious tears of heaven, causing the foliage to dance higher than ever above the Los Angeles liquefied soil. This night, outside my window, the wind-kissed Jasmine occasionally crackled and rattled its grasp on the trellis lining my front patio. All seemed normal.

I had doubts, which I mostly kept in check. This was all so new. The chiding by every Calguns member in every subsequent third post of "two weeks" was not helping. Will they? Won't they? I hope they don't, but what if they do? If I were a "they", what would I do in the name of "they"? What about other things besides ARs? Where's that FAQ post again - got to check the section on....

In the envelope of quiet calm, a simple fluttering of a finger pushes the thickness around you well enough that if it emits a noise, imagined or not, you sense you can hear its vibrations. The cobra, as ferocious a beast it may be, is deaf, yet driven by the fluttering of fingers, lashing the air with its whip, watching and waiting in silence, and apprehensive for what the flutter might do next. The serpent is a fierce display to his audience, but the cobra is merely on alert, staying aware, entranced by the fluttering. Living for the flutter, pulsing.

There am I. Looking for the flutter, and then instead I got a "click". A subtle nuisance in the frame of the house? The smallest of earthquakes? A wayward pen falling off a nightstand? A moth mashing against the back-door glass in his endeavor to find the love center of his moon on earth which we call "porch-light"?

No. Something far worse, far more sinister. Not my doppelganger. Not a ghost. Not even a giant cockroach from the forgotten caverns of my fifth year, coming back to me as an adult, finding me, in its blood-thirsty traipsing, not even the one I could imagine as four feet long and cerebral that lived under my bed so many, many years ago. No. This is worse. Something wicked this way comes.

Then "click". Again. The back room is too dark. The porch-light is NOT on. Anyone could have approached! Anything. Do THEY know? Could THEY have known about my visit to CWS today to buy a few dozen "Deer", "LLL's" and "Atoms"? Could HE know?

At the window, black clear sheet, and nothing, or anything, just beyond. Within the pineal point of lights that our optic nerves create when faced with the panic of an abyss of pure blackness, I see there is something. Maybe nothing. But surely something?

I make out the glossy reflection of spit on sharp angular canines, their sending a beacon through the roiling fog of dark. Just above those, two hot flashpoints that dashed in and away, when then, with their flickering out for a second in unison, I realized these were none other than peering eyes. Did I just make out the outlines of dark shapes, bipedal, side-stepping in the distance, beyond the boundaries of my yard? Next, against the glass door, from the cloudy fray of onyx, tiny fists raised with scrawny but rage induced forearms baring veins engorged with a vengeful blood, framing before them a horrifying grimace, capped by a set of wide open nostrils, a jutting chin embolden with anger, the mouth opening, opening, wider, ever wider, No! Not this, Not now! It can’t be! The glass, mind the glass! The hell-mouth, now letting out a shattering howl.....

“I’M AM DOJ, I AM ALL POWERFUL, I’VE COME FOR YOUR OFF-LIST LOWERS”

I quickly turn away, I turn back to my computer monitor, like a child shutting tight his eyes for what he can not see it must not see him, ever the while fearing the specter is evading the solidity of the glass barrier, now coming up behind me, reaching out with gun-grabbing claws, I see a shadow pass over the green glass of my desk-lamp shade, it’s there, no it’s not there, it's closer! I await a hammering clasp on my exposed neck, I shrug tensely to protect it, I focus, I can fight this, the FAQ, a post by Bill, ignore glen avon, I re-read the FAQ, I chant aloud "Manufacturer AND model, SB23 compliant, use of a tool... manufacturer AND model, SB23 compliant, use of a tool..."

It’s gone, It’s over. Perhaps seeing HIM may have been “an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!"

And then gone... HE is powerless. We defeated HIM.

We're subversive? Huh? We are going to painstaking, Talmudic detail in trying to understand exactly what the laws say and then comply with those laws. We're also trying to get our elected officials in Sacto to bring our laws closer to the laws of most other states. That's subversive? What's subversive is the DoJ trying to involve itself in the political decision making process. That's putting the cart before the horse. Even more subversive is letting an organization such as the Brady Campaign advise and direct the DoJ.

One point is, we do need to be very careful about not saying anything that gives the appearance of advocating illegal actions, even out of context.

Re: DoJers here: CA's nutty gun laws affect LEOs the same way they affect us. Yes, LEOs have the possibility of getting authorization that exempts them from these laws, but those authorizations aren't handed out freely. There must be plenty of shooters just like us in the DoJ who are just as annoyed as we are about these laws. I'm sure there are LEOs, perhaps including DoJers, who own OLLs, for the same reason that people here own them.

I do not understand why some people think I am a spy or something. I am already getting my finances in order to start my second AR build! I stand completely AGAINST Gun Control, regardless of what some may think here.

I will admit I lurk around CalGuns.net ever so often because I am planning my second build and would like to stay up-to-date with the latest info on the legality of our black rifles in the state of Kalifornia. I also like to check out pictures of the latest AR builds that people post here. Very entertaining for me, and often gives me ideas of how my next build should look like.

I just choose not to post here anymore. That's all =)

BTW, I have referred dozens of people to this site in the last couple of months. There is an AR-15 craze in California right now and I hope it keeps growing.

DOJ senior mgmt is trying to figure out how we can be shaped into "subversives".

Sooooo..........

When did the belief in our rights, (as afforded by the United States Constitution), and the defense of the constitution become an action that could be construed as "subversive"? I thought it was the duty of citizens?

When did making sure people stay within the laws become "subversive"?

Damn, first it's that new math. Now it's that new PoliSci. I've got to go back to school to get relearnt.
