Thinking we should start a good deals thread. Can be items that are good for the price or super sales/ promotions.

I will start it off with what I think is a pretty neat item. $10 and 99 cent shipping per item..

http://www.armynavydeals.com/asp/products_details.asp?SKU=BG159&catid=1240
They fit really nice into these ..
http://www.armynavydeals.com/asp/products_details.asp?SKU=BG227&catid=2104&ItemName=Magazine%20Pouch%20British%2058%20Pattern

And a great you tube video in these mess kits.

Yeah, they are not the best but if you mess with them they eventually work. I use it with char cloth. Long as one good spark hits, the char cloth lights off.

These are jerry can coolers, designed to fit 1 jerry can, but they can be used for many (camping, shtf, day trip, etc) purposes.

Some great deals from London Bridge including a $60 for the rolling ACU bag (http://lbtinc.com/index.php/bags-backpacks-packs/bags/load-out-bags.html).

I have this bag in multicam when it was on sale for $100 over the holidays.
It's a great bag. Especially for an INCH setup to throw in a truck or even some heavy duty luggage.
There are separators you can put in it secured by velcro as shown in the 3rd pic.
For $60 you can't go wrong with this bag.

They have a couple of different "flavors". That's the emergency bivy, and the picture just doesn't convey how small it is in it's little sack. It's something like 4oz too...

I also have the "thermal bivy" for my BOB: thicker and vented (so you don't build up condensation in the bivy). More or less weatherproof, though you'll lose heat through the ground without some sort of padding (even leaves/pine needles)

They even have a 2-person version, and some badass first aid kits...

This is an Amazon sale so the price will go up as soon as they start getting a lot of hits. Normally $52, fair reviews. I hate breaking toes or tripping over the dog in the dark so I ordered one to replace a worn out cheapie in the family room.

Trekker Hiking Staff

Telescoping 3-section aluminum hiking staff
Contoured rubber handle with adjustable wrist strap for a comfortable grip
Compass mounted in handle
Adjusts to 53" in length, yet compacts for easy carry
Rubber cap for hard surfaces, Tungsten-Carbide tip for soft
The value of a walking staff has been appreciated by travelers for centuries, but modern materials and technology now allow you to trek with an aid that's lightweight and has a multitude of applications. Since no two hikers are alike, this three-section 6000 Series aluminum staff adjusts in length up to 53" (135cm) so you can set it to just the right length to suit your needs, yet it also compacts for easy carry in a pack. It has a contoured rubber handle with a wrist strap to ensure a secure and comfortable grip. Embedded in the top of the handle is a compass to help you keep your bearings, and there's also a removable trekking basket for use in snow or soft terrain. Two end caps come with the staff – a rubber cap to grip hard surfaces, and a tungsten-carbide tip for hiking rough terrain and unpaved surfaces. An internal shock absorber makes using this staff easy on the hands and arms. Imported.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...Don't waste your money on this item! We bought one for use at our kids swim meets. Hauling a small cooler, towels, gear etc. It is junk. It turns very poorly, the handle is not long enough even when extended and it will not handle being pulled over anything rougher than a perfect sidewalk.

Otherwise its a great deal. If they give a warranty what could go wrong?

Good point. All these solar companies seem to be Chinese, out of business, going bankrupt, or a scam. I'd buy a rack of 8 or 10 big panels just to charge batteries and run a few leds if the power goes out. It seems like everything I find is overpriced and overhyped, subject to some subsidy or utility control. "Contractors" want double just to wire the controller. I seriously don't like them being so visible from above either. I bet they show up on Goog Earth.

Seriously, the Scorpion?

On to a good deal...

Quality sterile surgical trays are $500-5000. Overkill for most of us. And those cheap instruments at Amazon, Ebay, SG are junk. They're typically poorly made Asian stuff. Try this. They are "German" quality as advertised and a good value.
https://vetmedusa.com/veterinary-spay-pack.html
Jokes aside, the spay/neuter pack is a pretty good set for handling lacerations and other less serious stuff (though the cat probably thought it was serious).
Add blades, another handle, and some bandage scissors, maybe a couple of retractors if you plan to remove your own appendix. I wouldn't want these used on my hemorrhoidectomy in the hospital tomorrow, but if a doctor showed up at the barricade without his bag, even he would be glad to see this kit of instruments.
Add sutures? Try http://www.ad-surgical.com About half the price of some other brands. Don't order until you at least know when to use large/small absorbable/non. The most common sutures are 3/0, 4/0, 3/8 circle, 17 or 19mm, reverse cutting point for skin, tapered otherwise. Bigger absorbable would be handy to close fascia. Want to read up on basic suturing for the non-surgeon?
http://practicalplasticsurgery.org/docs/Practical_01.pdf
That's chapter 1 of a decent treatise on "village" first aid. None of the info is trivial reading.
More student suturing info with a lot of illustrations in a handy spiral bound book, a real winner for any emergency med kit if there is no doctor>>> Surgical Knots and Suturing Techniques by F.D. Giddings (about $20).

Finally, everyone should have a copy of Where There Is No Doctor by Werner. I know. Not cheap either. But if the lights go out, you need the hard copy, not in your backpack. These should be on the shelf at your destination.

The pack and contents are kind of cheaply made but you aren't going camping with the pack, and the food supplies are bare minimum rations, but it's a good starting point for a family GHB. I have one that I moved into a larger Camelbak pack that I already owned (my large GHB) and have added to it and replaced bits as money allows. In other words, it's basic but a whole lot better than nothing. Amazon Reviews (http://www.amazon.com/Ready-America-70385-Deluxe-Backpack/product-reviews/B00149VP14)

So I actually got my flashlight in the mail today. Took about a week and a half or so. for filling out the survey and sending $3.50 for shipping they sent me the Coast G10 flashlight. Cost about 8 bucks on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Coast-G10-LED-Flashlight/dp/B00AQ62D3U

Not a bad light IMO.

not bad; goes for about $10.00 on ebay-including shipping.

That actually is a really good deal. I have had one for a year and a half or so and use it a lot. People ask where I got it all the time.

I just went and grabbed a second one since its performed well and the price is right. I've been toying with getting a second one anyway.

Frankly, I would not trust the $1 store stuff as medical supplies - owies at the beach or camping, sure.

For me, this squarely a "you get what you pay for" lesson... it's not something I would go cheap on to heal my body.

I don't see alot of food stuff here .. beyond the 144 cans of tuna @$0.67 each at wallyworld.

From Utah .. of course .. big price differences from the originator and dealers

Augason $225.99 http://www.augasonfarms.com/Kits-and-packs/One-Month-Pack48-Everyday-Size-Cans-UPC-78716-07312 plus $11.99 shipping to Nor-Cal .. total $237.98

Walmart $174.88 http://www.walmart.com/ip/20532426?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227014967638&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=14069093230&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=34985535790&veh=sem

Sams Club $148.98 http://www.samsclub.com/sams/augason-farms-emergency-food-storage-kit-30-day-1-person/prod3111476.ip?origin=item_page.rr2&campaign=rr&sn=PopularProductsInCategory&campaign_data=prod7160221 less $16 instant savings .. $132.98

Sams club requires a $45 membership .. the $16 instant savings is for three units only, and as seen, that offering expires on 22 September. Shipping to home is free from Walmart and Sams. 3 times the $16 instant savings gives a net gain of $3 over the $45 membership fee. Mine are on a Fedex truck somewhere .. shipped from .. Salt Lake City of course  I'm not wearing a tinfoil hat out here in the woods, but the reality is .. we live in earthquake country, and any Major quake in Nor-Cal and the stores may be picked bare in 3 days or less, and resupply could take weeks .. or worse.

Non-edible 5.56 candy boxes $12.95 .. https://www.exilemachine.net/shop/magpul-pmag-moe-5-56-30rd-blk-54099.html .. 458 floorplates http://www.ebay.com/itm/ar-magazine-floorplate-5-56-10-round-458-socom-/251338418495 .. your bullet button removal part starts at $119.99 list http://www.thordsencustoms.com/shop/FRS15-STOCK/p/FRS15-RIFLE-STOCK-x780350.htm

Certainly I see a few flashlight buys in this thread, and even for us that are totally off-grid, they are invaluable. This is not a "deal" for most of you, but for dual purpose (in hand or mounted), consider this .. http://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-88040-Professional-Tactical-Holster/dp/B007RB82CS .. got five in February for family .. bulletproof and am guessing the 600 Lumens is accurate as my water tanker lights up like a Christmas tree 200 feet away. Thev've gone up almost $4 since February .. maybe shop around.

Peace to All .. Happy Hunting .. Essayons! :D

I went to Glens's Rod n' Gun today to take adavantage of their sale. They are going out of buisness so all fish n tackle is 30% off and the guns are marked down (honestly they are still high in price i.e. cheeper elsewhere) I saw two guns I liked in the store but found them cheeper elsewhere. I loaded up on some nice hooks and tackle for my BOB. Get the hooks while you can they are going fast.

Seems to me like an unwanted advertisement. :(

I agree .. a blatant ad, and extremely limited choices for emergency foodstuffs .. oh well. The SAM's price for the 53 pound 1 person 30 day box I posted a while back has gone back up to $174.99 .. was a hell-of-a deal at $99.99, so keep your eyes peeled for sales on that.

If this thread has focus .. it has escaped me. I'm not a super fan of Go-Pro, but I ran across this .. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/hero3-silver-w-frame/prod11020964.ip?navAction=push .. checkout price is $229.99 .. which IS a good price if you need the bundle .. includes waterproof housing. It has basically become the "default" cam for FPV .. like you really need another hobby .. right? :D A lot of quads are coming out already set up for them .. DJI recently lowered their price on their Phantom by 200 bucks .. http://www.amazon.com/DJI-Phantom-Aerial-Drone-Quadcopter/dp/B00AGOSQI8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1383855916&sr=1-1&keywords=phantom+dji .. or with a Go-Pro for $529.00 http://www.amazon.com/Quadcopter-actioncams-Propeller-Propellers-Cleaning/dp/B00ED8IYIA/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1383856007&sr=1-3&keywords=phantom+dji

Or .. build your own with this new product .. http://safeflightcopters.com/ .. rcgroups thread is http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1692582&page=30  BTW .. 100% US made over in Sacramento .. super safe around kids and pets ;)

On the Cheap .. get your feet wet with one of these .. http://www.amazon.com/Badboy-Quadcopter-Camera-Arrival--QuadCopterCity/dp/B00AZEALUK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383857517&sr=8-1&keywords=v959+quadcopter for about 70 bucks

Survival and Preparations is the header of this thread .. FPV enhances Situational Awareness so I thought I might post a diversion :)
One caveate though .. flying FPV can become addictive .. it's a slippery slope :D Essayons!

In This Book You'll Discover:

* The #1 all natural item you should have in your preparedness kit that will knock out ANY virus - often in 24 hours or less!

* The absolute worse food to stock up on that most preppers buy a lot of.

* 2 little known and very unique methods that will make harmful insects want to stay far away from your survival garden while at the same time increasing the vigor, health and yield of your crops.

* How to create clean, pure, sparkling water out of thin air.

* What all natural items you should always include in your pet’s emergency preparedness kit.

And much, much more!

Also this book is meant to be a resource guide and not just an informative read. So many people only write about a topic and leave you scratching your head trying to figure out where to find what they are talking about. And if the product or resource written about isn't on the first 10 pages or so of Google then good luck finding it. This book is different. Links are provided in the book to most everything written about saving you lots of your precious time trying to locate many unique items you may have never even heard of. This is a true resource guide.

Stealing Second (The Amendments Book One) (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BEJXV4S)

4.4 out of 5 stars

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

The freedom to defend oneself against all enemies, foreign and domestic, is the very definition of liberty. America’s Founding Fathers went to great lengths to ensure this right wasn’t infringed upon by future lawmakers. Still, to this day, politicians seem determined to undermine that freedom. Once that right is stripped away from the American People, freedom as we know it will cease to exist.

Stealing Second takes a look into future America, an unarmed America, where unmanned drones rule the skies and UN troops police the population. Across the country, detention camps spring up like weeds. Americans are given two weeks to turn in their firearms. But those who believe Americans will easily give up their arms have another thing coming. Washington only succeeds in angering the American People and the country plunges into a second revolutionary war. With the odds stacked heavily against them, Americans fight back to preserve their liberty.

Simmons 6 MP ProHunter No Glow LED Trail Camera with Night Vision .. looks like Bushnell .. cause it is  Two year warranty .. records audio with video .. best price ever at 90 shekels at Nat's. I just pulled the trigger on five units for Christmas gifts .. (two for me) .. everybody I know has wildlife up here .. including the 2 legged and 4 wheeled breeds ;)

MSRP is $244.95 .. Amazon hasim' for $129. $89.95 at Natchez's .. shipping was $20.98 to NorCal .. but I didn't check for discounts  Audio with video is a big plus, making this unit incredibly versatile. Cyber Monday pricing ends tonight at 12 midnight Eastern .. 9pm Cali time.

The Costco one comes with 4 aaa batteries and an l.e.d. Light on top of the one in the link. So Costco is still a better deal.

There's currently a promotion on Amazon for Mountain House meals. $20 off $100. That really drives down the cost per meal. Don't forget to shop through Calguns.

I don't know about the lifspan of dynamo flashlights, and radios, but I found these at my local 99c store:
http://cdn2.image-tmart.com/prodimgs/J/JA015/10-Lumens-No-Battery-Dynamo-Crank-Wind-3-LED-Flashlight-Torch-Blue_600x600.jpg

Dynamo crank 2-LED flashlights. Apparently these have a capacitor that charges via the squeeze-crank. I don't think these have anything but a coil, magnets, switch, capacitor, and 2 LED lights, but I don't know if an EMP/Solar-Flare, Etc. would kill a capacitor. I did read that similar products contain a lithium ion battery, but since the case is translucent, I cannot find it, and I did pop off the LED cap to readjust the LED that wasn't working...

This same flashlight (well it looks the same visually) seems to go typically for 2.99-18.99 (5.99 AVG...) from what I could find in researching info on how long of a light you get for how much cranking.

Run Time 30 seconds press=15 minutes of light
60 seconds press=25 minutes of light
However another site that has the same product stated that 30 seconds of cranking give you 20 minutes of light.

I saw these and got 2, and will be buying more to put in the lady's car, my car, emergency supplies, and I'll probably give my daughter one for Christmas(, and a few spares in case they break, as she is not allowed any more batteries since she cannot turn her durned flashlight off [2 days, 2 sets of batteries]). :(

I had one that did not light-up one of the 2 LED's but after taking it apart and reassembling it works great too.

The light is sufficient for checking the back yard, and supplies more light (40% more?) than my stun-gun's single-LED.

Edit: Welp, it does look like it has a battery: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-LED-Dynamo-Hand-Crank-Flashlight-/160983547593?_trksid=p2054897.l4275...but even if you get 300 charges, I think it is worth a dollar. I wonder if it could be adapted to charge a 18650. :)

Lifestraw (http://www.amazon.com/Vestergaard-Frandsen-527950-LifeStraw-Personal-Filter/dp/B006QF3TW4/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t?tag=slickguns-20)on sale for $15 with free Prime shipping.

This is obviously not a replacement for a real filter. But a great addition to a GHB or to have one more option. I have a few of them and they are really light weight.

Before you buy 10,000 of them, make a note that they do have an expiration date or rather the company claims a 'shelf life of 5 years'. I'm not too sure if they would really 'expire' but it is there. (Someone might have more details on that...)

Oh and don't forget shop42A.com!

Good find but did anyone catch where it says "Does not filter chemicals, salt, viruses, heavy metals, taste." What does it filter; rocks?

Just sayin.

Maw-hahahaaa!
Nice, however it does appear to filter down to .2 microns, and that is one of the smaller particle filters, even in medical applications based on research I have done in even medical products I have access to at cost. (However some HEPA air filter can filter down to 0.003 microns [the smallest particles that exist?].) The ones that filter much better than that are pretty pricey.

The corona virus particles are about 0.080 to 0.160 micron, and I don't know if that is common here.

You COULD get one of these: http://www.pall.com/main/power-generation/product.page?id=55099 but at $159+$15.10 shipping (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pall-Ultipor-GF-Plus-Cartridge-Filter-1-m-AB3U010Z7H4-30-Length-/221321822439?_trksid=p2054897.l4275) , it may be cost prohibitive unless for nuclear applications? ;)

You can get .1 micron, or even .02 micron filters, but at 1 gallon per hour the .02 micron's seem pretty slow if you are using a gravity-fed system...
