Thinking of letting my M38 go and wondering what these are going for nowadays. It's a Izzy in M44 stock that has been counter bored, all matching and good condition. I bought it from Big 5 a few years ago and haven't seen one since.

Any ideas on a value?

Here is the latest that I could find that sold on Gunbroker, but currently there is one starting at $325 with no takers.

Yeah but thats a rarer year, had original M38 stock and in great condition thats why that one is going for that much You standard M38 with M44 stock and refurb that counterbored is about 175-225 TOPS if its in real nice condition.

Wow thats crazy for an M38. I sold an M44 in great condition and its was a 1943 and was not couterbored and in great condition all matching and I couldnt get more than 350 and it was VERY RARE in Mosin standards

Value will generally be in the $300 range. Factors such as year (1943 is most common, very early ones or 1945 brings a premium), overall condition, degree of originality, type of stock (early unconverted M38 stocks are scarcer, M38 laminate has value premium especially early beech, Ww2 M44 stock is correct for 1944-45, many earlier M38 stocks were modified for use on both M38 and M44 but are still way more desirable than post-war M44 stock), all original numbers or re-stamped refurb numbers with Cyrillic prefix are more desirable than re-stamped without the prefix with line-out and electropenciled being at the bottom end of the value spectrum). Non-counterbored is more desirable to some folks and may bring a few dollars more. More advanced and knowledgable collectors will pay more for one without the more recent huge, hideous, rough as a cheese grater, "billboard" import marks that look like they were applied by an autistic monkey on speed with a hammer and center punch.

Photos would really help.

A non-refurb, mint 45 M38 is a rare bird. Rarer than a refurb 43 M44.

Top value on a 1943 M43 (looks like an M44, but of course it ain't an M44 due to the linear and uni-directional nature of time) would be for one in all original, as manufactured and issued condition. With no, or at least minimally offensive, import marks. Significant premium for correct early laminated beech stock.

I've been looking for one - the right one - for a long time and haven't found it yet.

Finn capture markings would probably double the already significant value of such a weapon.

Another batch?? there hasn't been another batch of M38's for quite a while

There are some waiting in Germany, according to rumors.

If so, i hope they make it in before Obanner drops his executive hammer.

May seem like a weird question but If I have an Az ID and address do I need a C&R or is that a CA thing only. Or will aim ship directly to address
