Hello everyone,
I was referred here by a friend who said it's a good place to get info on obtaining a legal AR-15.

I was told the only part requiring a background check is the lower receiver so I am basically here to find info on the best way to obtain one.

Good luck finding one right now, or @ least a fair priced one. Start checking every gun store around you. I would stay away from Ammo Bros right now though. Everything is picked over, the only stuff left is way over priced. I suggest waiting till this hype is all over or putting an order in for one, just be ready to wait several months. I live in San Bernardino I go out shooting all the time, I'm always looking for new shooting pals send me a PM if you want to setup a shoot day & get some trigger time on one while you wait. Good luck

You might check out bright spot pawn. . . . . bought my first AR15 lower out of them about 5 years ago. . . . not sure if they are still open or if they have them in stock. . . . but good guys back in the day.

Thanks for the tips, I went into my search knowing there would be a wait.

I was told that the lower receiver is the only piece needing a background check is this correct?

Thanks for the reply GMG, I know it's probably a question you have answered more than once.

socal5150 - If it's the same gun you wrote a for sale post about I am interested but need to get some more funds together.

check out gunbroker.com there some lowers for sale there. You will need to have it shipped to a FFL and make sure it is an OLL.

Bright Spot is "between" FFL's right now... take a drive out to Bullet Barn on Central in Upland (just north of The Hat). Brian's a good guy and they're not beating folks up on what they have in stock. Pretty picked over as far as AR's are concerned, though, like everyone else.

Good Luck!

If it's that M&P, he wants like $400 I believe. It may have been more but Im not sure. I just remember it was rediculously priced.

JD Machine in SD I heard has some for normal price. If you build, I have 2 brand new BCM BFH 16" midlength upper groups. As others mentioned, really bad time. Things are either out of stock or 2x the normal price
