What's up with C&R stuff selling out everywhere? Sure, I get the hysteria around black rifles etc., but CZ hand guns, old P38's and Mosins?????

I was at J&G a few weeks ago. They had tons of C&R's in stock and now they are all sold out. Same goes for AIM, etc.

Heck, I should have bought 5 or 6!!! :o

EDIT: Is it just my perception that this is happening, or are wholesalers just in between shipments or some such thing???

I think people are buying whatever they can get and in some cases as many as they can get. If everything goes toes up then a Mosin and a spam can of ammo might be more valuable than gold or silver coins.

If a new shooter walks into J&G to buy their first rifle or handgun and finds their first, second and third choices sold out with a three month backorder, they are going to buy whatever is in stock.

i think its just of time until we no longer have cheap C&R military rifles. Obviously guns get older everyday but most military rifles built 50 years ago have happy switches. Although it would be cool to find an original ar15.

I just picked up an 1898 Krag today....wasn't planning on buying anything, but thanks to a C&R and COE, she came home with me today. There were some other C&R's on the shelves, but not many.

I don't see prices going crazy on Gun Brokers for C+Rs. River City had plenty in stock last week when we were in there.

She would have went home to anyone with money. And 1898 Krag is an antinque and needs neither a coe or C&R to purchase and take home same day.

" An 1898 krag is an antique " -- Not so, unless it was built in 1898 -- A 1898 krag built in 1902 is C&R but not antique -- A fine point perhaps but possibly a potential disagreement with DOJ.
