The 10PM Fox News just aired a story on the Brady Campaign w/ a nod to pro-gunners. They want to know what you think about current U.S. gun laws.

I told them this: "Current US gun laws infringe on the 2nd amendment of the U.S. constitution and our human right to defend ourselves. Elected officials, law enforcement and military who swear to uphold and defend the constitution frequently violate their oath and commit tyranny against U.S. citizens by denying us our right to bear arms. These politically motivated anti-2nd amendment laws are illegal and need to be abolished."

First and foremost, THE GOVERNMENT IS INADEQUATE AND WILL ALWAYS BE INADEQUATE (reference the looming crises of welfare, health care, illegal immigration, violent crime, Social Security, etc., as well as the government's completely inadequate response to Katrina. Just wait until you see the chaos when the big one hits in the San Francisco Bay Area). The only person who will be there in your time of need-- when you have to protect yourself, your family, or your property-- is _you_. The police will not be there. Your governmental representative will not be there. Just you. Supreme court decisions have stated that the police have no responsibility to protect any individual (i.e., you), so basically, your ability and therefore your right to self protection has been legislated away. Our society needs to be one of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and part of that personal responsibility means being responsible for the safety and security of you and yours. Besides, criminals who use firearms don't care what the firearms laws are, no matter how strict. Allowing the good guys access to firearms will not stop a Columbine, a Virgina Tech, a NASA, or any other such occurrance (these events are happening anyways, even with the rediculously strict gun laws we have now), but it at least gives the good guys the RIGHT to have access to the tools needed to defend themselves and their loved ones.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me.

It's not a poll. It's a link to email them. Do exactly what the OP said.

Click on "YOUR BALANCED VIEWS" and send them an email.

Lol, what? Socialists aren't going to speak up for you, dude... not in any way, shape or form. They're firmly in the enemy camp.

I wrote a post and they would not let me submit it. They said something about an error on the link I used. Thats censorship if you ask me.

"The Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms. No where does it guarantee the right to Own Arms. Gun Control, NOW!" - Bill, San Diego

I liked this one the best.
