I am new to the forum, heard a lot of good things about it from my friends who originally from CA. Just got out of active duty from AZ. I know that California Guns Laws suck, but due to job and family unfortunately I have to move here and deal with it.

I am in bay area, hopefully this forum can teach me what i can and can not own in CA. I was lucky to own quite a few ARs before this demand went through the roof. Most of my weapons haven't register to DOJ yet, but will do that when it arrives in a couple of weeks.

Currently own
LMT 308 MWS 18" Stainless Steel (DGI)
556/223 Addam Arms Evo Ultra Lite Upper, and Daniel Defense Lower (Piston)
PWS MK116 Rifle, 300 BLK (Piston)
LMT Defender 2000 (Piston)

and a couple of hand guns, P229, HK P30, HK P2000, Glock 22, XD sub

Looking forward to interact with people at calguns.net.!

Kyle!

Same here.
A good place to shoot is Los Altos Rod and Gun.
No, I have no affiliation with the club.

Welcome to California, the Bay Area and Calguns.

As for your question about what is and is not legal I would start here:

http://www.calgunsfoundation.org/resources/faq.html?view=category&layout=categorylist&task=lists&catid=4

If you can read legalesse (most can muddle through it) you can find the actual laws at the California Law site here:

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

Check the box marked "all" then type "firearm" into the keyword area and change "limit to 20 documents" to "limit to all documents". Happy reading

Calguns Members are awesome, thanks for the welcome and great info California Guns Laws.

Base on the regs/laws, most of my weapons are in the legal guideline gun's law for California, except the bullet button, easy fix. It seems like, the pricing for ARs in CA are rising just as much as the housing market!

Depending on your location, Richmond Rod & Gun Club, or Chabot Gun Club (Castro Valley) are two great places to shoot. Both also have USPSA & 3-gun matches, as well as other matches.

I belong to the Terra Vee Rod and Gun club in the Livermore hills, let me know if you want to go shooting some weekend lots of squirrels to shoot and targets out to 800 yards. Thanks for your service and hope you don't find California's laws too restrictive.

USI in Concord and Chabot in Castro Valley are both very nice outdoor ranges in the east bay.

Welcome! Shooting club/range depends on your location. Richmond R&GC my first choice, Chabot TASC gun matches (also USPSA), good choice too, if you are into action shooting & competition matches. You have already found best resource - Calguns....
